Price offered a final message to his fans in the statement: “I love my fans and have devoted my life to reaching out to them. I appreciate their support all these years, and I hope I haven’t let them down. I am at peace. I love Jesus. I’m going to be just fine. Don’t worry about me. I’ll see you again one day.”
One of my fathers favorite songs. He's been gone over 27 years and it still brings me to tears. I hope you are feeling better Mr Price. You are loved by many.
My Dad Doug Medlin knew His Dad Walter Price. Dad and Walter joined the Masonic Lodge in Gilmer, Texas on the same day. Dad had to help Walter with the paperwork. Both are gone now. Dad lived long enough to get his 60 year pen from the Gilmer Lodge
Even before this song came out in the 1970s. I was laying in bed with the woman I truly loved and I did watch the raindrops on the window running into one another thinking how can I tell her I wasn't going to see her ever again. It broke my heart to tell her after 15 months together without her knowing that I had a wife and three small children at home that needed me. Every time I hear this song I hated myself for breaking both of our hearts. If you are married never do this you will suffer the pain in your heart forever.
I have always thought he sings this just for me. Mercy - I get chills too when I hear Ray sing this fabulous song. What a wonderful voice, handsome, always elegant and gentlemanly. He sang many songs in the past but the first one I ever heard him sing was "City Lights". He entertained us for so many years and each time I saw him in concert he was very appreciative of his audience and of all his many fans. Unforgettable truly talented artist.

I still maintain nobody can sing it with the poignant honesty of the original songwriter. A masterpiece by Kris.

One of the most incredible song and performances ever recorded. IMHO.
Truly one of the greatest songs of all time. Performed by one of the Best Artist of all times.

If there was ever a song written for an artist, "For the Good Times" was written for Ray Price. Easily my favorite country song of all time.
