    Yves...really enjoying your series of detailing maintenance tips.
    I’m a client of Craig Niven at Staffordshire Car Care here in UK. My new RS4 Avant was ceramic coated in August ‘20.
    I’m due to have some secondary work done soon in terms of PPF to some of the piano black trim, B pillars and rear bumper.
    Are there any problems with final rinse of PPF using a 0PPM water filter and then drying PPF areas with a warm air blower? I have recently purchased a water filter and a BigBoi Mini Plus.
    Thanks.

    • @GYEON_official
      @GYEON_official  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi Nigel, glad to hear you like them. I’m sure Craig will take care of you. Love the RS4 by the way.
      For your rinse, no problem at all. Always a good choice. I like to use PPF Maintain as drying aid: most of the time I do what I call a “crevice” blow dry and after that you always have some droplets left on the paint, then I spray PPF maintain on the paint and do a final wipe with a softwipe towel.
      PS. Go for PROTECT + on your piano black trim ;)
      Regards,
      Y.

    I just bought all these! Can’t wait to use it! Question for Gyeon: Will the PPF coating prevent the PPFs self healing properties?

    • @GYEON_official
      @GYEON_official  Před 3 lety +6

      It will not. Just don’t use it on a ppf that is brand new and has hydrophobic properties like Gyeon’s PPF because the film will reject the coating.

    • @GYEON_official
      @GYEON_official  Před 3 lety +1

      Yes for sure! PPF needs maintenance as well. Gyeon PPF has selfhealing and hydrophobic properties and to maintain this in a proper way this step is needed. As well as a once in 3 month decontamination wash. It will keep your PPF looking fresh. It’s a fast and easy process that will be very beneficial for the longevity of any PPF.

    Hello, great video for great product :)
    I dont know Tar remover are toxic on PPF, i Guess its toxic also on vinyls wrap.
    I have to be careful when i use it for tire mark...
    I used ppf maintain on all the car (ppf mat, ppf brillant, vinyls brillant, carbon mat unwraped) its ok, it doesn't alter visual aspects.
    I expect one day you product a Rinseless wash solution, iam very happy with this method.

    Can the PPF wash be used on non-PPF surfaces (ie paint). Some only have PPF on certain areas of the car like the front end of the one in the video. Could one just use PPF wash on the rest of the car during the wash process? Seems like it could knock down some decontamination from the paint that is ceramic coated.

      Q²M PPF Wash can be used on every wash of any type of PPF.
      If you PPF on the car is not coated then the use of Q²M PPF Maintain will be very beneficial to make your PPF slicker and therefore less prone to attracting dirt.
      It can be used on new or old PPF.

    Surely the 'two bucket' method with grit guard should still be used? Whilst not of course your products, what is your view on using a Carnauba wax to maintain the depth of shine? I am aware that the edges of the PPF must not be allowed to collect residue was, but that issue aside what's your view on going down the wax route?

    • @GYEON_official
      @GYEON_official  Před 2 lety +2

      There are better ways then a 2 bucket method imho but not everybody will have or are willing to buy the gear that is needed. Even with a 2 bucket method there are many mistakes that can be made, 2 buckets are no guarantee for a safe wash.
      Regarding wax on PPF: sure, why not just pick the right one and avoid edges. It will be the same amount of work as a Q²CanCoat EVO application which would be my pick, resulting in more durabilty.
      Regards,
      Y.

    Self-healing PPF care question: in another reply you mentioned it was best to NOT use coating on PPF which had hydrophilic properties & was self-healing. Is that just when film is brand new? Or are you saying not to cost that type of film at all? TIA for your time!!!

    • @GYEON_official
      @GYEON_official  Před 2 lety

      Exactly, when film is new and has a hydrophobic topcoat like all Gyeon PPF films have, it make no sense to apply Q²PPF EVO.
      Of course when you have another brand of PPF on your car, Q²PPF EVO will give you great results. It can be used of course if ylthe hydrophobic layer would diminish over time but then the first thing to do is to decontaminate first and start from there.

    Hi Yves, Where does Q²M Wet Coat fit in all of this? I have a New Nissan Rogue with 3M PPF on the full front and the dealer applied a 1 time Paint Sealant to the rest of the car. I plan to apply something (Gyeon PPF Coating) to the PPF they used as it is not coated hydrophobic looking version. But I don't think I can use any applied Topper sprays over the Paint Sealant job on the rest of the car. So thinking Wet Coat product at the end of all the weekly/bi-weekly Maintenance Washes. How is Wet Coat compared to PPF Maintain spray?

    • @GYEON_official
      @GYEON_official  Před rokem

      Q²M Wetcoat is a hydrophobicity booster that needs to be sprayed on a wet panel and rinsed immediately. It will boost gloss and drying the car will be super easy.
      Q²M PPF Maintain is often used as a drying aid or a quick detailer, it will add slickness and gloss but a wipe in, wipe off action is needed, so 2 different products that serve different purposes and needs.

    • @GYEON_official
      @GYEON_official  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Hi @Cooper-gh8zt, Q²M CeramicDetailer will be more glossy but it is focussed on paint. PPF is a plastic and the gloss is already determined by the properties of the quality of the film, that’s why Q²M PPF Maintain is more focused on durability and maintenance especially on PPF.

    Would we apply PPF wash by using a foam cannon? And then letting it dwell a bit and then rinse? Should we get refoam the car with Gyeon bathe and then go into washing if the car? I have the PPF maintenance spray which is what I apply after each wash… my PPF has shelf healing capabilities plus it has ceramic properties built in.

      Just use Q²M PPF Wash as your regular shampoo. It can be put in a foam gun but you will always need to clean the car afterwards. This can also be done with Q²M PPF Wash. It’s versatile and smooth but as a prewash with a bit more power it would go for Q²M Foam.
