My wife and I had planned to travel to Spain for 3 weeks in May and June, but since my wife requires a Schengen visa to visit we are now looking at no earlier than September, since a visa appointment here in Toronto is 6 months wait. With all the research I have done on buying properties, locations, lifestyle, etc. it never occurred to me that just getting in to look would take so long!
When you say foreigners may qualify for up to 70% mortgage loan, are you referring to NLV residents also or just those who are not residents? If I’m a NLV resident, would I still be considered a foreigner when applying for a loan?

No, you'd be considered resident in Spain (as long as you've been holding the NLV for at least 1 year), as you are actually tax resident in Spain.
