- Never tackled a project quite like this in my life. But I desperately needed a space to be productive, stay focused, and be comfortable working in. I definitely couldn't do any of this without the many DIY searches I found on here.

I’m more impressed by the drawings than build. Super cool desk set up man.
haha. much appreciated. "blueprints" always work best for me.
Same haha
Good built still, simple, nice and durable
I'm a carrer tradesman and also do all my own work. Thinking of building one of these in my daughter's room. Tremendous job on the desk!
Well done buddy. it looks gorgeous

Looks great your a master, serious
Very nice!
Nice project for the alcove!
Looks pretty great. You've certainly given me some ideas for my built-in that I've been mentally cooking up for the last year.
Sometimes you just have to go for it and gitterdone!!!
I love it! You did a great job. You must be proud!
It's gotten some really good use. So far nothing has broken. =)
Great work
Loving the set up! Video was dope - lovely transformation, great work👌🏽
Thank you so much...really appreciate it
This turned out great. Congrats Rene!
You’re the legend that inspired it 😉🤙🏽
@@ReneLopez-qc2vx Looks great mate well done!
For someone who says they aren’t a pro builder you got mad skills.
Thanks a mill...that means alot
Great video. Thank you.

Sweet build man! Love it!!
KoltOfAllTrades much appreciated, thank you!!
Love it
Simple but dope
Good job dude! Love the desk setup!
Thank you! Much appreciated
Awesome!!!!
Thank you...appreciate it!!
Great build man! Looks awesome. One tip for you on glue clean up. Take a wet rag and wipe as much of that glue off both sides while it’s still wet after you tighten the clamps. Saves a ton of time scraping and sanding after it’s dry. Keep building! You sketch stuff out just like me. Must be a California thing
thanks for the Cali shout...lol!
nice job
This looks amazing and inspiring to DIY a desk! Would you share the drawings?
brrruuuhhhhh you have no idea how refreshing this was to watch, you actually made me feel like I could do this. Alllll the other vids i've watched people use so.many.tools. and make things unnecessarily complicated, I especially loved the jig part, like do I REaLLy N E E D to buy that?! ...nope, apparently, I don't LOL . thank you! Looks perfect!
thanks bro. Desk is still holding up
I am also looking forward to building my own desk. I have no experience in woodworking. I was doubting myself. Now I think I will be able to make it. I will be happy is my first DIY desk looks as clean as yours. Thanks for the video.
Nice work man
PAPA SHANKO thanks! 🤙
We want to make one but 11 feet long for a married couples gaming room.
My desktop is 50 pounds, and his is around 30. Then add our 4 monitors for a guesstimate of another 40 pounds.
Should we still need to put a leg in the center for support, even utilizing our studs as reinforcement? Thanks to whomever has a helpful insight! ✨️
Desk set up looks great! Question: how did you address the gaps in between the 1x6 boards? Did you fill them in? Sand the boards down? I'm thinking of doing something like this but for writing. I'm wondering what's the best way to get a smooth surface. TIA. Great video!
I filled any gaps with wood glue and saw-dust mixture. If you need it to be perfectly flat between the boards, I would suggest getting a planer (?), to get the whole table top flat. Then sand it smooth.
What is that tool he's using when drilling the dowel pin holes?
Yo Rene. I’m about to build a floating desk and shelves with the same situation. I came across your video trying to find out how to handle non-flat walls. Let me know what you did and how you did it. NICE work bro!

Whats up bro...email me and we'll chat
Love the idea. What light is that
I got it from Amazon. I forgot the name of it, but you can search 'spiral desk light'
How wide is the nook, looks awesome!
it's 58 inches wide
What's your previous wall colour?
Matte black
@@ReneLopez-qc2vx previous color?
6:34 one tip man don't see too much in camera lcd screen
How much did it all cost
IIRC, I believe I spent about $200-250 on just raw building materials, with paint and stain. More because I messed up on the first version of the upper shelves. Cost of power tools vary on what you already have.
what is the color of the stain?
the stain color is puritan pine by Minwax
@@ReneLopez-qc2vx cool, thanks :)
The old desk had a huge bending to it when you stood on it...PLEASE never ever do that again. Use a ladder
Shit looks sweeeet
