  • Beautiful Southern California in the Mojave Desert, with vistas as far as the eye can see and San Jacinto and San Gorgonio snow-covered peaks to orient us on our hikes. Two weeks of slow travel through this desert gave us a much needed sense of rejuvenation and wellness. We hiked over 125km through the many wilderness preserves, municipal trails, and of course, Joshua Tree National Park.

    Whitewater Preserve which intersects with the PCT for a short duration
    Chaparrosa Peak Trail, Pioneertown Mountain Preserve
    Kelso Dunes Trail, Mojave National Preserve
    Forty Nine Palms Oasis Trail, JTNP
    Willow Hole Trail, JTNP which skirts the Wonderland of Rocks
    The Maze Trail, JTNP
    Barker Dam, JTNP which was short and full of interesting rock features
    McCallum Trail, near Palm Desert
    Hidden Horseshoe & Pushawalla Palms, near Palm Desert
    Borrego Palm Canyon, Anza Borrego Desert State Wilderness
    Bump & Grind Trail, Palm Desert
    East Indio Hills Badlands, Indio
    Big Morongo Canyon Preserve, Morongo Valley
    Coachella Valley Lookout on the windy and scenic Highway 74 drive
