Twin Cries when Brother Goes Down Stairs without Him

  • These twin brothers look like each other, dress like each other, and do everything together, so when one of the them jumped off the last stair without the other, it incited an instant crying attack. Thankfully, his brother quickly realized why he was crying and went back up the stairs so they could jump off together.

    As an independent identical twin this made me angry. One should not be pressured to accommodate the other simply bc it’ll hurt his feelings. This seems small, but it progresses with everything in life. He shouldn’t have had to go back and get him or hold his hand unless he wanted to. The lesson should’ve been that in life you have to do things alone.

    • @jesspavlichenko5745
      @jesspavlichenko5745 Před 3 lety +2

      Except that he needed help going down the stairs in the first place from his clearly more dominant and independent twin, they had a disagreement about how they wanted to jump together (one wanted to hold hands the other wanted to have their arms on each others shoulder) and then the other rudely jumped down without his brother.
      Whatever your issues are in your family, don't project them on to this family. These children are literal toddlers who got into a squabble and resolved it with a hug. It's not about you or how much you hate your brother. The other brother went to ask his brother was was wrong on his own, he wasn't forced to.

    I loved the little pause the boy who was crying did when the mom said "you hurt his feelings" and then after a second started crying again😂. Lmao kids really do be learning from the adults. Like if the parent had said "its fine its okay even if your brother didnt come with you" the kid would have actually listened to that.
    If a kid gets hurt and we get all worried and stressed the kid is gonna get worried too. But if we tell them its okay let me fix it the kid is gonna understand that he didnt really hurt himself that bad. They reflect the parents feelings

    These two remind me of two little boys that I taught at a school-run summer program one year. They were brothers and they were both four years old. Their parents were married, and one was biologically related to the mother and the other was biologically related to the father. They were such sweet boys and they were absolutely inseparable, almost constantly holding hands. However, one of them was extremely quiet and the other was the biggest troublemaker in the class! The quiet little boy would say “where’s Jaiden? Where’s Jaiden?” whenever he couldn’t see his brother for even a second, even if it was because his brother was standing behind him. I remember one time, Jaiden slipped away to play with other kids without Samuel for a second during recess and Samuel was beyond upset when he realized he couldn’t find him. Jaiden looked like he felt bad for a moment, then went back to playing with his friends, like a typical little four year old boy. 😂 For the rest of the recesses at the summer program, Samuel would just stand along the fence and watch his brother play to make sure he didn’t lose him, no matter how much we told him to play with the other kids. They ended up being put in separate Kindergarten classes, and it was really hard on Samuel at first, but I heard from a teacher who worked the program with me that Samuel is much more outgoing now, and he and Jaiden have stayed close.
    Sorry for the long story. 😂 They were just such sweet boys, and this video reminded me so much of them.

    One son is independent the other twin is dependent on his twin. Embrace this devotion & loyalty the crying boy feels for you. It doesn't come often enough that another truly deep down loves you to the moon & back. You 2 boys have a very wise mom!

  • @carolamoore72
    @carolamoore72 Před 3 lety

    I think that mom did a good job. She didn't yell at them, curse at them, or make the one who jumped first feel bad for leaving the other twin behind. Besides, the one that was crying was leading him by the hand first, so when the other twin left him, he felt alone and his feeling were hurt. We also have to realize, they are little ones learning about how to work together and to help one another. I have three children and it's not always easy to teach them how to work together, and be respectful, but they have to learn. We as adults need to learn that as well. May God bless them both!

    As a twin, I hate that people foster the idea that we need to be dependent on each other. It's highly annoying. We're two separate human beings who happened to share a womb. Not that we can't be close, but the idea that we HAVE to be is toxic.

    • @ishish8816
      @ishish8816 Před 3 lety +7

      I agree the crying ain’t cute. Like there was no need for dude to be crying.
      She should have made him walk the step on his own and then explain to the crying one he needs to be more independent and not so damn needy. And the other one to look out for his bro a little and not leave him hanging if he wants him.
      It’s gonna build resentment if mum carries on like this. Holding one twin back because the other one so delicate.

Seen it with friends, seen it with siblings, seen it with cousins, seen it with parent and child, seen it with me and child I was looking after. Stop projecting.
