Tip for everyone who lives in the USA, as someone who missed manjar a lot (2:28) I was able to find some in Target! I use them to make traditional sweets whenever im craving them. They dont taste exactly the same as manjar from Chile but its close enough :) from company "La Lechera"

Ojo los chilenos no tienen identidad gastronómica, por eso se han copiado de la mayoría de las comidas, tragos y dulces peruanos... como por ejemplo el pisco, el pisco sour, el ceviche, el suspiro a la limeña y ahora veo que hasta los hot dogs estadounidenses jaja

Great review! I tried ceviche in Mexico but didn't really enjoy it - it was a bit overwhelming with the cilantro. Chile looks like an awesome place to visit!

The manjar is slowly cooked condensed milk. You missed the BEST Chilean empanada. It's baked - not fried.

In the end they didn't show the real Chilean food, I am surprised that instead they just got some random average western culture food with some Chilean flavor on it.
They didn't show things like traditional roasted deer, guanaco, ñandú. Various preparation of trout, salmon, catfish, conger, coipo, mapuche food, traditional creole food, things like Chilote, Atacaman, Magallanic and so many food styles.
Every region or city It has its own traditional gastronomy, and this is because each area had different ethnic groups. Chile is not a country that can be simplified or unified as a single ethnicity or culinary style.

Hi! Many people believe ceviche originated in ancient times by the populations inhabiting Peru and Ecuador. Apparently during the War of the Pacific, when the Chile army occupied Lima in the late 1800s, they brought the concept of ceviche back to Chile! I’m sure there is much more history there but that’s what we were told!

Soy Chileno, y el ceviche no es de aquí, es solo una moda de los chilenos snobs que no les gusta o rechazan la comida típica chilena porque la encuentran rasca o literalmente les da asco. Si quieren probar verdadera comida Chilena vayan a las picadas o al Sur. Y prueben las empanadas de PINO. Lo otro, cuando muestran el Sándwich, no sé si era chacarero o barros luco, pero ninguno de los dos llevan esas salsas y menos pepinillos. Uds se fueron a lugares más gourmet o siuticos.
