I have zero experience with any mentalism/magic but I ordered this because it looked really cool. I was able to use it to remarkable effect after about an hour with the cards.
I would recommend this to basically anyone. I have zero experience with any of it, but the tarot gives the atmosphere and headspace that naturally flowed.

I agree with you regarding download videos should be split into topics like the old school dvds. It is a pain going back to a video searching for that one move or idea that you want to brush up on.

I got this when it came out and love it, the marking system is brilliant and I had it memorized after one watchthrough of the video - the only thing I wish was that there were a pair of full tarot decks available (as an additional purchase) with the same back designs available so that you could just have them sitting nearby to make these cards appear to have been taken from full decks. The limited selection has raised eyebrows both times I've practiced this, ie., "Why do you just have five? Where are the rest?"

There is definitely an out for this. I’m not quite sure what it could be, but something along the line of, “I’ve brought a couple of Tarot cards with me” or, “would you help me out with a little experiment”. I’ve seen an 8-ball as a final load in a chop cup routine and I did not think “that’s great, but where are the rest of the billiard balls?” Like Twisted Sisters or any other packet trick we can simply say, “I’ve brought along a couple of cards tonight to try something very specific... this is like a high wire act because I could fail miserably, if we succeed however, something worth remembering could happen...”
And for just $40, Ben is getting ripped off ;)

Just a small comment to say digital videos can have chapters. Both the mp4 and mkv container formats support chapters. A lot of players support this feature and will allow you to jump to specific chapters.

@@kalvinhepple5975 Sure, although I’m sure I was pretty blunt in my original statement. He said it looks good and I said it is not a good trick in so many words. My reasoning is because it’s way to obvious and you should be able to create and perform this trick for under 5$......people and mostly magicians are scammed for secrets that, in this case, can be discovered just by watching the damn performance; I mean it was horrendous.....worst mentalist I’ve seen. I could duplicate/replicate this with the method below, saving cash:
I watched the trailer performance and from what I gather he is using marked tarot cards (which you could make on your own using ungimmicked tarot cards). He matches her cards because he uses the one behind principle (puts a random card down first then matches her cards in progression setting them down in the pile). You can clearly see he bottom deals the first pile reveal to get his order to match. The cards help solidify that the patter was actually valid (in reality the language is typical psychic reading BS which most people should be able to read through) ie. “it was a man right?” -NO “your right this was a female but she had an influence on a man in your life” basic hook and bait; you use the answer to formulate the next social normative response.
Sorry but this had to be written; I didn’t even buy the trick and I figured it out in one watch of the trailer lol......plus you need a real responsive audience; better to go with something else here lol. B’wave is better or use an invisible deck/marked deck combo reveal. A thumb tip is honestly a better buy lmao

I “Liked” this review before I watched it. I knew I’d like it. I have The Oracle System and am enjoying it. And even though I already have it, I have been looking forward to your review of it. I think it’s nice when there has been care taken to ensure a quality item, (not just the props, but also the explanation), is provided. So often these days, things get rushed to be released before working out all the “bugs”, and corners are cut with quality. That is not the case with this one. My only concern is of the cards getting worn out from overuse. Maybe that will give the cards charm; but I am a bit OCD, so I like my cards crisp and new-feeling. Makes them easier for me to handle them in sneaky, magic ways, as well. So I’ll eventually (probably) have to purchase a replacement.
I will say one thing: Ben has indicated that any recorded or broadcast performance of this trick is strictly prohibited. Not just on television, but it can’t be recorded and show up on CZcams or any social media platform. Which causes me to have a whole lot of “what if” questions. Not sure how, or to what end, such a thing can/will be enforced; but I think magicians ought to know that’s a stipulation with this trick. So if someone is thinking a clip of themselves performing this would be a great addition to their promo video, you may want to put the brakes on that until you can contact Ben.
My only two complaints are that, like you, I wish the teaching materials were on DVD. I’m not a big fan of the downloadable and password protected website stuff. I want a hard copy on my shelf.
And secondly, he provided the Lovers card to switch out, but because he doesn’t use that card, there wasn’t the same attention given to ‘reading’ that card as he gave for all the others.
Both of those are minor things, though. Just personal preferences. Overall, this is a well thought-out, classy, quality piece and worth every penny.
I chose to leave out JUSTICE since it's marking looks too similar to the EMPRESS

I am not sure of buying it. I am a card magician and I never did mentalism.
I have no idea how cold reading is done, so I am asking if this is very hard for someone who didn’t did mentalism in their live. But I really like that you can make a memorable moment and maybe emotional. Any thoughts?

the markings in "Oracle system" are actually NOT easy to see. You said it yourself in one of your videos. What good are marked cards if you can't see the marks? all those lines are confusing to look at when you trying to identify tarot cards. Eclipse by Dee Christopher is much easier to see the markings. The ESP Card-Match up trick in Eclipse is similar to Oracle. If you want to be a mystery performer do Eclipse instead. Those marks are clearly visible 10 feet away.

This is not worth the money in my opinion if someone could figure it out in the trailer. It’s like watching a trailer for a “French drop” and telling someone it is in the other hand. @@magicorthodoxy I agree magic is art. Art can be judged in different ways. You are locked into a fixed mindset. I don’t play by the “rules”; which typically the best artists do not. Plus a good artist could recreate this without forking out money. I’m happy to continue this debate on the morality of revealing tricks. My method i gave isn’t even a full reveal because I never purchased it. Just my interpretation of the “would be art”.
@@magicorthodoxy Also the demographic of your viewers are probably not layman so it’s not like the integrity of the trick would be damaged in a sense it would still have the same theoretical impact on a layman since they have no clue what’s going on. Yes I hurt the creator because people may not buy it but that inspires him to create a better trick. I’d pay for a trick that stumps me so Ben just create something better. Pretty honest bro

It’s such a shame that Seideman decided to go with the Tarot motif. Even though it is presented for entertainment (“play”) purposes, genuine occult activity is prohibited to those of Catholic, Christian, Jewish and Islamic faith. Likewise we avoid Ouija boards and Wiccan practices. You might say, “Oh, it’s just pretend. Nothing will happen.” I’m a Catholic priest, and I’ve seen things happen. I’ve also been a performing magician for 40 years, and I know that there is plenty of magic with which we can entertain without opening demonic doors. You wouldn’t let your children play with a loaded guns, even a low-caliber one. Let’s find something safer to entertain with. And to those who would denounce me in saying that “magic” is prohibited as well ... “real magic”, yes. But performance magic falls into the same category as acting, singing, dancing, sculpture and the arts. The Occult does not. - Fr. Kevin Thompson
I could never perform this because TAROT does not fit my persona either. Just like I don't perform with knives, or fake blood, fire or cards that depict skulls. But I enjoyed learning the 10 card routine. As Paul tells me in Ephesians 5:8 "For at one time you were darkness ... but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light."
I don't understand what the problem is though: why you can't buy the effect, learn the method, then make your own cards to perform with? This can be performed with anything, playing cards, business cards, etc...you are learning a method; use it with any prop that fits your performance :)
