I consider myself a purist when it comes to music but I love this video. It's one of the best produced music videos that I've seen (and I worked at MTV) plus the editing is seamless. Jim was a rebel back in his day, and who are the modern day rebels? I'd say skateboards are on the top of that list. Most importantly, this video does a beautiful job showing that The Doors music can still stand on it's own and have a place within a new generation 40 years later.
Having been to Venice so many times, and I live an hour from Hollywood, LA, I think this whole video really captures the spirit of it all. I definitely think though there is a lot that it doesn't quite capture either, just gotta experience it to know.
With alcohol and drugs and slightly slurring his words, Jim Morrison's voice on this song and some other LA WOMAN tracks had just enough of a shopworn sound to make for a perfect blues voice. This perfect blues voice, along with the excellent musicianship and writing only helped to create one of the most bluesy and one of the greatest of the six studio albums by the Morrison-era Doors' albums ever...
Very cool video. Brings the song up to date with today's younger Doors fans and us first geners as well. Like the edit. Reminds me of the old AM radio days where songs were cut down to "3:05". Thanks for posting
having casually met Robbie Krieger about 20 years ago, this is what I'd expect him to look like today. LA is the major topic of the film/skating is the way to show off the neighborhoods and dark and threatening street culture. Good work.
Sweeeeet.... Love the video... Jim would be proud.... Growing up in Ca back in the 70s & 80s were the best and worst of times... I miss it. Wish I had a time machine.
Love it! I'm 43 and I bought me a kick ass skateboard after watching this video! I read John Densmore personally edited the original LA Woman track and this video. It's a great vid.
Love the video. While I personally don't like this new "radio" version I understand why it was done and what they're aiming for here. Anything that helps to get the music of the Doors to newer generations is a good thing. Good job!

They are re releasing LA Woman which is The Doors best album. I don't see a problem making a new music video for a new generation, that's just smart. Cool Video btw
Niceee He points out *The Doors* Head Nod, nuff love respect yaaa boy. No idea who these guys are but the song, feel, vibes, the men and all those behind the music from decades ago wow love this stuff! Why was it short? Wtf owell not bad at all, of course cannot please all. Peace, Love, Respect!!!
i remember the last june evening when i was so angry at my girlfriend, she hurt me a little bit. i didn't know what to do with myself. And then i looked at my old skateboard, played L.A Woman on my iPod and rode down the empty streets in the night with the doors. I felt free, i felt really happy
John Densmore, Robby Krieger & Jac Holzman all appear in this video. I know it was just 10 years ago, but what a great time to be alive. Nobody's on their damn phone.
OK let me say that I was honored to meet Robby Krieger recently and that he and Ray still personify The Doors music to this day even without Jim. Robby even had on a Doors themed Hawaiian shirt! But unfortunately while this video shows what LA and Venice Beach (where on that fateful night Jim met Ray and showed him his Moonlight Drive lyrics) are like today, they cut out the entire breakdown "Mr. Mojo Risin" section of the song. Also "Hair is burning" is about LA's fire's n should also be in!
2 de las mejores canciones ("LA WOMAN y RIDERS ON THE STORM") de la HISTORIA DEL GRUPO Y DEL ROCK no puedes "editarlas" de esa manera; es un sacrilegio musical.
I really liked the idea, cruising throughout venice, l.a, sunset strip where the doors were born. I think that maybe since its saying l.a woman, they should had put a female skater in there too. Good vid. I like
I just read in the "Doors Examiner" that the man on the motorcycle with the basket on back, is Jac Holzman, president of elektra...It says that is the way he brought records around back in the day of the Doors....I did not notice that first time I watched it...That's cool....
@jymwrite My pleasure...I LOVE the "Doors Examiner"!!!! I am fairly new and read every article - It's is great for H-U-G-E Doors fans like me!!!! Keep up the great work...
Well, I would click 'like' anything thrown by The Doors, because I love, I do not quite understand the moral of the skaters as they do not know much about Los Angeles. I confess I did not understand very well what the clip makes us think, but I loved it.
i love how robby and john are in the video

Go away troll 😈
Lo mejor de haber leido Boulevard fue sin duda la nueva musica.
What a light hearted yet powerful interpretation of the song. It's like Dylan had written the song just for them. Keep going, change will come✊
Thank you The Doors for this timeless song

The Doors were gods of music that rode the peak of the 60’s phenomenal tidal wave great video guys great to see the remaining Doors 👌🤘👍👊
I'm watching this in 2022 and it truly breaks my heart watching LA basically collapse.....

It's great to see the music live on through a whole new generation!
having casually met Robbie Krieger about 20 years ago, this is what I'd expect him to look like today.

A perfect tribute to a timeless classic. Nicely done.

Its funny when some people dont realize Robbie and John are both in this video. Robbie used to skate and had a ramp in his backyard.
this was freakin' awesome!
Great update!

That’s Jac Holzman (founder of Epic) on the Vespa who discovered The Doors

I feel freedom in this video...
Have you seen M.Pokora (french singer) on that video ? around 1min 10.
El Poison !
A chaque fois que j’entends ce morceau, j’ai envie d’enfourcher ma moto pour tracer la route ! ✌️🤘
es mas bien con el lugar actual, venice beach. Donde nacio la banda hace mas de 50 años.
Is that Jac Holzman on the Vespa at 2:26?
NOT the full version of the song. 😡 On the other hand, looks like Robbie Krieger made cameo appearances in a couple of places.
The Doors will live forever ................
Should have included the entire song
