I have a canon 7D that kept giving me an error code and wouldn’t even let me turn it on. All I had to do was change the drive letter and it LITERALLY worked a charm! Thanks so much for the video!

How are you? While I was formating the Cfast inside my camera, the camera turned off so the format was not finished. I've tried all the steps mentioned in the video and I'vent ablke to fix it. There's another way? Thanks in advance

One of my CFast cards 256G is only recognized as a drive (in my case Drive #2) and doesn't show up on the removeable card list in disk management. Any ideas?

Hi there, thank you for your question! Check if the card reader is compatible with CFast cards and is functioning properly. Update the drivers for the card reader. Check if the CFast card is listed in Disk Management and assign a drive letter to it. If none of these steps work, you can try using the CFast Card 2.0 Full Format and Refresh Tool for Windows, which can be downloaded from the Western Digital support website using this tool however will erase all data on the card.

I have used my CF card on my card reader on my PC multiple times. I shot 300 photos yesterday. When I put my card in my PC it now says the card needs to be formatted. Why is it all of a sudden asking me to do this and will I loose everything on my card if I do?

Hi there, thank you for your question! The message “SD card needs to be formatted” typically occurs due to corrupted or interrupted writing processes on the card. This can happen if the computer or camera files required for reading or writing are lost or damaged. If you format the CF card you will lose all the data on the drive.

Hi there, thank you for your question! If you tried all the steps in the video id recommend checking if the files are hidden by using file explorer then going to your CF card click on the view tab and check the box to make sure hidden items are selected.

I have a Sony A200, using a SanDisk Extreme CompactFlash Card with pictures on it. The only way I can download pictures from the disk is connecting my camera to my surface 3 laptop. I get a message saying I need to format the disk before I can use it. Will formatting cause me to lose my pictures? None of the options in your video seem to work, do you have any other suggestions?

Hi there, thank you for your question! Yes formatting will cause you to loose all your data. You can try using a recovery tool such as wondershare Recoverit but the odds are slim that you will be able to recover your data.

i have a similar problem. I dont have a card reading device so i just hook my camera up to my PC. the instruction manual says that i need to have my camera in USB mode designated "mass storage" mode to have access to the pictures on the CF card. but, in that mode i get the message lydia here gets and i cannot access the camera files at all from my pc. the PC tells me i have to format the card. the other USB option on my camera instead of "mass storage" is "PTP" which i guess is used for plugging the camera into a printer and printing images directly off the CF card. in that mode, i do have access to most of the images on the CF card and can copy/paste them to my computer, but many still do not show up. I also cant edit or delete any files off the CF card when the USB setting on the camera is in "PTP" mode. this means i either have to delete them all manually one-by-one or format the CF card. i guess the easy choice there was to format the card. but i could only do that from the camera even though my PC gave me the option to. i tried and it wasnt able to do it. so i formatted it on the camera and the CF card is now empty. but that still didnt fix the problem on the PC with being able to read the card. any pointers? @@RecoveritDataRecoverySoftware
