Some say it's a tangible energy that exists in each of us, unlocked by the memories of our childhood and the fellowship of everyone who we experience it with. What is it about walking into a Disney Park that feels like visiting an old friend or someone who you have shared some of your most memorable moments with? I completely get how John feels when he talks about Disney with his dad. Such simple memories can bring enormous joy to our lives. For example, when I was riding the Haunted Mansion as a kid with my dad, I was afraid to proceed onto it, and that rough, big hand of his guided me through the whole ride no matter how scared I was. I unfortunately lost my dad last year and I'm holding those minuscule moments very close to my heart. I hope you all do too.

As a child growing up our family would take trips to Disneyland, my father however wasn't able to join us because he couldn't take the time off of work. So I have this memory of probably our fourth trip I was about six years old and I'm saying goodbye to Daddy and I remember feeling so sad for him because he had never been there and I wanted him to be able to experience it. So I told him as I gave him a hug that someday I would take him to Disney. Fast forward 25 years later I was able to take Daddy to Disneyland. Out of all my memories of enjoying the parks this would become the most special. To experience it through the eyes of my children and the most special guy in my life brought me the most joy. That was five years ago and we still enjoy talking about it.

I just stumbled upon this and clicked it while I was eating my breakfast. 10 minutes in and I was crying. I am a fellow Disney junkie. I did the college program in 2004 and have been back as many times as I have been able to since. I even honeymooned there and on DCL. Coming from the West Coast I do not get out yearly, like I would like but as much as I can. I now have a one year old son and can't wait to take him for his 1st trip and many more, and hope he has the same fond memories that you do as a child. Haven't finished watching yet but I can't wait to watch the entire thing! Home

Enjoyed this film very much. Just one question, where were these Dreamfinders when I was living and working there, for Disney, in 1977? I was totally alone in my passion for WDW, would spend at least half of all my time off from work on property exploring everything there was to explore. Everyone I worked with AT DISNEY was there just for the job, no one cared about it outside of that and I was looked at as a fanatic. I was (and am) every bit as committed as these people in this film. I struggled to eek out a living there on minimum wage with a car that constantly broke down and I could not afford a new one. After waiting as long as I could for things to change, I had to leave and move back north to PA. I would have stayed if something had changed for me transportation-wise, I honestly did not mind being by myself in my love for Disney. But you cannot buy a new car on minimum wage salary and Disney themselves offered no transportation option for their employees.

I'm not really a disney fan, didn't care much for it when I was a child, I didn't go to DW until I was in my later 20's with my gf but once I did go I just couldn't help to feel happy inside and while there I seen many adult dinsey fans which I found interesting aswell. One older lady who was in line in front of me had traveled from Germany all by herself to visit that park which really blew me away, and as shown in the doc how many people move to the Orlando area just to be near that park not to mention Celebration, Florida which I bet many fans outside of Fl even know about!
I had no clue about this subculture but since that day I just can't help to want to know more about Walt and his parks while I'm still not a major fan I do appreciate that place and always want to know more about Disney and it's super fans.

I'm a little nervous adding an opinion because apparently it's ok to bash anyone who didn't love this documentary. But here goes : I have nothing against any of these people. However, in a docu about the magic of Disney, it's just gut wrenching to see people who are actually there watching it all through their cell phones. No one seemed to really look around and appreciate it, Just way too focused on hits and likes and periscoping. That, to me is the antithesis of actually enjoying any moment.
Ron Schnieder was very under utilized and he worked there! I'd have loved to hear more about his experiences IN DISNEY World, as an employee. You guys had access to an inside source, and completely squandered it. There's just no other way to put that.
Last, I'll say this. The description sounds good, really good. That's why I clicked on the video. However, it is completely inaccurate. I would have LOVED to see the movie described there, sort of an adventure into the psyche of why Disney is so sacred in our memories and hearts. This just was not that. Not by a long shot.

    • @BigFatPanda

For the record, you are only seeing what is edited to stay in. I despise most people on their cameras and cellphones ALL the time. I refuse to ride an attraction like the Haunted Mansion if someone is going to be using their phone because it ruins the magic. I get ya.

I don't really know how I feel about this one. I mean, the cinematography was brilliant. But I'm not sure what the message was here. I mean a movie about Disney bloggers might have a small targeted demographic. But what have you shown the people what they don't already know about said Disney bloggers? The first 45 minutes was great, but when the Periscope competition broke out, all I was thinking about was what the people walking by were thinking walking by a bunch of bloggers with their faces stuck in their phones instead of experiencing the "Disney Magic," because it wasn't about Walt Disney World any more. So while I finished the movie, I had completely shut it out. Still, though, the camera work was superb, and you really edited it well. I just wish you cut out the 10 minutes of the Social Media plug and replaced it with more interviews with guests other than the Disney Bloggers. We hear enough about their opinions of Disney Magic, I was hoping to hear what Joe Blow thought about Disney Magic.

The editing was really well done and the cinematography was spectacular, but other than that there was something about this documentary that struck me as just a little weird. As another commentator once said "painful to watch". I myself am a major Disney fan, and I've spent more than half my life so far learning about Disneyland in California and I consider myself one of the super fans...but I wouldn't be apart of a documentary that focused so much on myself...I don't believe everyone's story is really that interesting. My own story as to how I became a Disney fan is kind of a worded story, but I wouldn't presume that its something people would want to hear, especially since I'm not very well known. -And to that point, the people in this documentary aren't that well known either, despite the popularity of the sites they've created. The point is that their websites are popular, but their names are not, so this whole documentary comes off as odd narcissistic babble from people we'll probably never see again in our lives.

S2iAm and Tony Cortese, A troll doesn't compliment the editing and cinematography. I didn't write some strongly worded complaint about the documentary, I expressed a critical response, just like you just did in your comment about me. I didn't give my Disney story in my comment, I gave one 30 word sentence (a single sentence out of the whole paragraph, hardly enough to be my "life story") telling the reader that I'm not a Disney hater, I'm a Disney fan (in order to assure the reader that I'm not trolling), nor did I finish the comment about myself, if you had actually read it correctly. And lastly I never said it was a documentary about them, I insinuated that the documentary focused heavily on their own stories ...I did this by saying "I wouldn't be a part of a documentary that focused SO MUCH on myself" ...meaning that its okay to give a brief summary of why you like Disneyland or Walt Disney World, but a documentary that is this heavy on their stories is too much ...in my opinion... the very fact that you are inhibiting the expression of my opinion tells me you're the troll. I hate the term troll anyway, people use it so loosely, anyone who doesn't agree with absolutely everything other people like is a troll. So stupid.

They are well known within their circles, and those circles would be the ones watching this. I recognized Lou Mongello the second he appeared.

Also, talking about yourself and your experience with something you love does not make you narcissistic. Narcissism would be more like thinking you're more important than others, which is different from believing that your experience is valid and worth sharing.

wow, loved seeing the original dream finder! this was an interesting video. my only beef is that you guys seemed to be very loud and almost disruptive in the parks... I hope you're not like that all of the time because you're ruining the magic for first time visitors.
