Amazon has a doorman replacement for $40.00. Just did mine on my 2008 Dodge Ram. Took me about 20 minutes no dash removal required.

Great video. My son found your video today and took the same steps as you did and found we had the same problem in my 2006 Ram 1500. I elected not to repair it just pull the broken door out. I think I can live without the recirculation function, considering what I've been living with up to today. Thanks a million.

Before you rig it do your research. Replacement doors are like 20 bucks on eBay. Just did mine.

This is incredible. Whomever said american ingenuity is dead should watch this. I too have a broken Dodge but choose to remove the dash and put in the complete Heater Treater kit. All new metal doors, viola, fixed. There are 4 doors, all plastic.

The recirculation door breaks like in video and blocks vent. I talked to my mechanic at dodge and he told me what was wrong and the amount to repair which was comparable to Sudsyo. They make a kit that replaces the current flawed system. I think everyone of these has broken. I have n '03 and '05 and both are broken. You can remove fan motor and each in and remove door but you will constantly be taking outside air. Here is what i did. I removed fan motor because it was roaring on high which it only worked on high, another problem altogether, just happened at same time. Go figure. The cause of the roaring was an imbalance caused by the broken piece you saw in picture stuck in fan blade. So i took my door and secured it in the recirculation postion. To do this i removed glove compartment and stuck a screw driver through vent and wedged it in so door was secure in recirculation position. Then i took a sheet metal screw, one that was for securing to wood, ,sharp point and screwed the door shut on top left corner. Look closely and there is little tab on top left behind door where u can make a screw grab. Make sure the door is in position because u will miss the plastic behind door. Screw through door into tab. You do this by reaching though glove compartment vent. you will see corner of door with dogleg. I had along extension plus another to reach through attached to cordless drill. You are screwing in plastic so easy on trigger or u strip plastic out. Makesyre your hinge on top right is in hole. Now go through bottom where fan motor was with another screw and a washer just big enough for screw. What u do now is catch below door in plastic right below door and make sure u are close enough for washer to catch bottom of door and pull it closed with washer. u cant screw door shut because u cant get at correct angle. You will see where to put screw on bottom not necessary to be exact just make sure you are close enough to door so washer will grab door. Now your truck is permanently in recircullation. Your air blows and $600 is still in your pocket.

I just watched your video, I wish I watched it when you posted it. I removed the blower motor and same exact problem thank you so much for sharing it I will fix it today and have the windows defrosting a hell of a lot faster than ever before.

remove blower motor ,remove glove box , reach up through blower cavity push recir damper back up (with left hand )in closed position , hold closed with pencil through glove box opening with (right hand ), using 2" aluminum tape ,seal sides and top to hold in place with your left hand , 10 minutes done deal,,,, no screws, breaking or cutting and can still be all replaced with new parts later if other ac/ heater issues arise with no damage to your truck

Get that same door on amazon, Dorman brand, for $35 and is an improvement from the factory door for those who wish to replace the door, and the white piece is eliminated with the new door. That's the main source of the malfunctions of all the blend doors it appears....... Dorman is making a good replacement for all doors and much cheaper than Heater Treater doors.......

THANK YOU!!! Have had this issue in my '06 Megacab for quite a while. We're in the Houston area and have already been melting on some days. Can't wait to try this....at least cracking open a beer and checking the door today and then maybe have an excuse to "save $600" by buying a Dremel. Loved the text, too..."forgot pic sorry" lmao!!! You made this girl happy....thanks again!!

Thanks for the great video..Very ingenious way to fix the problem. I am going to do this fix this weekend... Mandatory for any Dodge repair job, cold Bud Light! 1 can= easy fix...2 cans=moderate difficulty... 3 cans=more difficulty... 5 cans or more= you really effed it up and now you need to call in a professional mechanic to finish the job! LOL!

Ami problema. Me ayudas. ??
