Did you ever hear him address tuning? He said he does nothing special, nothing technical. Just turns the lugs until they sound good to him and that's what he goes with. I think the sound of his MiJ kit is the bomb.
Been following Ian since 1969, hes always been a top drummer and proof that you dont need a big kit to make an amazing sound. Hes just the best at what he does !
@@davidstaff5176 No. They are both legends and among the best of the best. But at his last days Bonham wasn't able to reach highest levels playing live concerts. He was too drunk and lost. Paice since 1980 only became better and better. So...

A legend that I am very happy to say that I saw in concert. He played 2 amazing drum solos during the Perfect Strangers tour stop in San Antonio Texas. Had to walk home because I missed my last bus but it was well worth it.
It Was in 1994-95 when Ian Paice started to use double bass bedal, Fireball was taken to Live set when Blackmore left!!!! Before that, he used double bass drum only in Fireball 1971. In this video there is only single bedal and he is just so fast with his left foot!!!!!!!!!! Avesom !!! Ian Paice uses double bass drum bedal also in Cisco Kid and live set in the ending of Smoke on the Water!
GRANDE MARCEL4302 !!! THANK YOU .... DP dp ?! MAESTRO IAN ANDERSON PAICE no estoy seguro , pero creo que en este show en australia en 1984 subio george harrison a tocar con ellos el clasico lucille. LONG LIVE DEEP PURPLE FROM HERE TO INFINITE...
Not only is he an incredible drummer but he really knew how to tune drums.

This is why Ian is my favorite. He solos in a very traditional style.
I never get tired on listening to Ian Paice. Always my favorite.
One of the greatest rock drummers!

The Master
No one possessed Paices chops, no one, esp Bonham.
Ian is the finest feel playing rock drummer of the last 50 years
IF there is anybody who can match Bonzo's right foot, it's Ian Paice's left foot. Bonzo and Paice IMO are the kings of the bass drum and of triplets.

Sorry, but paice technically more skilled than Bonham.

Saw Deep Purple on this tour in the Tacoma Dome :) Absolutely incredible.

He will always be one of the true greats!

FROM HERE TO INFINITE...
He does use a double pedal these days.. (Plus he used two bass drums on Fireball in the 70s.) But he has an EXTREMELY fast left foot as well.
Да это не человек,это робот,шутка.А вообще гениальный барабанщик.
Man those Pearls sound pretty great!(the drummer's not too bad either 😉)
Since he is the best, we can forgive him for dropping the left stick at 1:35.
and that didn´t seem to matter kept the rythim perfectly
...and at 0:20 too 😉 This solo is truly awesome, IP is the king!
@@lassek2719 Hmm... I see what you are talking about but I don't know that that is his right stick flying up. But maybe you are right.
And yes, he is the King!
Ian dropped 3 sticks during this solo - yet recovered so much gracefully few did notice. Master indeed.
@jetfreak4 I've heard he uses a double bass drum pedal though...
@jasonpp1973 He only ever uses his left foot to play the bass drum.
where do u get that?
if u still have this show we can make a trade, just pm me,or visit my trading site, the link is in my page..
Anyone has this complete show on video?
@jasonpp1973 He has a double-pedal but if you watch in the videos he doesn't use it. Anytime he uses the bass drum the hi-hat is usually going.

Snare rolls that sound like ripping sandpaper.
Barrymore Barlow hat!
Insieme a John Bonham,secondo me,sono o erano i migliori batteristi del mondo.
Why's he wearing that silly hat?
Because he is IAN FUCKING PAICE! !!! G.O.A.T......
Lol
If it's good enough for Gilligan he figured it's good enough for him.
Paice's hats in the 80s were awesome
He was going to beach doing sand castle
