Focal's flax cone: stiff as a board, light as a feather
The 300 ICW 6's 6-1/2" woofer is made from an exclusive flax cone material. A layer of hollow, ultra-lightweight flax fibers is sandwiched between two thin layers of glass. These extraordinarily light-yet-rigid woofers deliver rich, uncolored midrange and tight, natural bass.
This speaker's other driver is also unusual: a 1" inverted dome tweeter crafted from magnesium and aluminum. Its fast, accurate response allows detailed, dynamic highs that extend all the way up to 28,000 Hz.

The 300 ICW6 in-wall/in-ceiling loudspeaker is the most balanced model in the 300 Series line. Its versatility makes it perfect for reproducing all the characteristics of Focal sound.
This 2-way coaxial loudspeaker is composed of a 6½” (16,5cm) woofer with a Flax cone and an aluminum/magnesium alloy inverted dome tweeter. Focal’s exclusive Flax technology, based on a flax-based eco-textile, is worthy of the famous W cones used in the Utopia, Sopra and Electra lines. Kellen knows I’m a HUGE HUGE fan of these Focal 300 series. I believe they punch wayyyy above their weight in many ways. The installation ease is so fantastic too. Great to see they’ve incorporated angled baffles into the already great lineup.

Very important for HT that any in ceiling speakers are able to be angled to MLP. These are huge. I bet they sound amazing.
Focal knocked it out the park with this one! They didn’t have the A6 as part of the series initially. We are very happy they added it in. Now we have a full line with towers, bookshelves, on walls, in walls, in ceilings, and angled in ceilings. All with the same tech for matching tonal balance! 💪😁
Love the focal brand. Can’t wait for the new vestia line up when they come out. What in-ceiling speakers would pair well with the new line for atmos?
We do too! The vestia is a hybrid between the Chora woofers and aria line tweeter really. I would recommend the 300 series in ceilings to get the same tonal balance since both vestia and 300 ic6 or ICA6 have almost the same tweeter. We will be taking a deeper dive and doing some demos at CES in Vegas in a couple weeks. We will post that video and ask Chris Shaw what focals recommendation is going to be. Do you think I could use these speakers for surrounds and atmos speakers. I only have a front wall due to large living room kitchen combo. Almost like the Audioholics smart house.
Can the Focal emblem be removed from the grills without damaging them?
Hi Zach, can shed some light on why the ICA 6 is $100 less than the ICW 6? And if I was installed Focal 300 series in a 10ft ceiling for front and read Left and Right (and maybe center but considering a ICLCR5 for center) Will I get a better listening experience with the angled ICA or is it compromising something that would would make the ICW better? I do not have the ability to put any of the speakers in any walls.
Absolutely! We where very shocked when Focal came out with this speaker and saw the pricing was cheaper than the ICW6. Most manufactures have a higher price tag for the angled speakers. You are right on track with using the A6s in a situation like that. You can also do 300 iclcr5 across all 3 front speakers if the budget allows for best performance. We have done just the ICLCR5 for the center as well since it’s the most important speaker in the system because all your dialogue comes from it when watching movies in Dolby surround format. I would call and schedule a free video consultation with a specialist to look at your space and we can maximize performance and budget based on your exact space. How are they compared to Sonos ceiling speakers? How do they sound with Sonos amps?
Are you going to integrate that into your Sonos system with Sonos amps ?
