This song got me through the hardest year of my life when it was first released back in 2013. I would listen to it whenever things started to feel like too much, on my way to work in the morning, and at night when I had too much time to dwell on the direction my life was going. It was one of the only things I could do back then to feel better.
When I heard this new version this weekend, it took me back 8 years. I thought long and hard about how life has been since that time. The world is maybe not in a better place, but I did survive that hard year, and I'm surviving now. That thought just made me love this song more. Thank you, José .

I'm facing a lot of difficulties in my life nowdays. I have no words to describe my feeling when I'm hearing Mr. Gonzalez's songs. It's pure, clear, explicit of my own experiences. I'm not just in love, I'm grateful for those songs. Thank you so much Mister Gonzalez.
In my first play trough of the album I wasn’t paying too much attention to all the details. As soon as the chords of this one started, I began to hum the Line Of Fire melody. And for some reason I was shocked when José actually started singing the song. It took some time for my brain to comprehend what had happened haha
So happy he released this rendition with Junip‘s being one of my favourite songs.

It's mesmerizing how much more immediately personal this becomes compared to the Junip version. All love.
Perfect song. Coming up on 20 years since mom passed, this song does more than any therapist ever has. Still kinda a mess, but this song help pull me from the edge or "backed up against the wall."

Being a filmmaker, this has notes of a partly sad ending with a bright light somewhere, just not present anymore in a situation or to some people. A feeling of hopeless disconnect and separation from something once beautiful turned into tragedy... I want to put this in the ending of one of my films. It's so fitting to what I'm portraying. Maybe one day :') I love finding great talent out there!! Truly emotive.

Thinking back to his Friday afternoon set at Bonnaroo, 06/13/08, With a huge spliff after a long day/night the Thursday prior, listening to Jose playing In Our Nature and Veneer material on a beautiful sunny day. Times weren’t perfect then, either, but they were certainly better than now in many ways. Much love from Kentucky.

I have listened to this song so many times on repeat. This & Your Life Your Call.
There was a period where I was going through so much heaviness, depression, instability- I was in a very abusive & unstable relationship, but kept thinking it was my fault, & kept trying to be better, good enough etc... for this person.
It was a really sad period & relationship, that I am glad to say I am out of now- I stepped back from that line of fire.
wow, line of fire and your life your call are also my two favourite songs. Line of fire has a very personal meaning to me, and I listened to it a lot when I was going through a dark time in my life. I'm glad to hear it brought you some comfort, too. It's good to hear that sad period of your life has come to a close.
