I can appreciate the "he's the guy to get it done" comment, but that's a lot of work for one guy to knock off, and from what I've seen in the clip, there's nothing outward that shows me how capable he is, apart from his passion and knowledge of its history.
Put him in touch with David Grainger at The Guild of Automotive Restorers, and David will have the car researched and know more than that guy in a month's time. David would take it on as a long-term project like the Bugatti Aerolithe. This guy would have to sell his house 3 or four times to pay for the work, but in the end, he'd have something he could drive.

to get that car back to "stock" will never happen it was a one off engine and minus that its going to take 10's of thousand's and a lot longer then that guy has life left.....maybe one of those one week resto shows can do it for a special....

Well sadly real pickers would do such a better job, but what can you ask two really bad actors to do anything?? Those two idiots are still able to keep their scam going after all these years, that is where you know TV channels needs to hire real people, real executive and have someone double check their purchases, their deals to kill off any of their shady deals. They should have been able to put him in contact with the right people to get this car done, and i mean real people not morons they encountered or their friends to give them a cut of said deal etc LOL

At 3:39 the GULF sign shows no holes in the left side of the U.
At 3:50 and 3:55 it shows 3 vertical holes in the left side of the U.
At 4::13 it shows no vertical holes in the left side of the U.
This is why I hate this show: it is fakery.
It's a double sided sign, on one side the U has no holes, on the other side the U the three virtical holes, the same holes the L has on the side the U has no holes, get it?
Too bad these guys aren't real pickers , just actors .
