NO Brainer??? lol , people need to start watching tua play the WHOLE game especially past week 12
My fiance just asked where the " Huck - Tua " shirts are at boys
This is how you know there should be a salary cap per player. It's getting ridiculous.
+1, or per position
Play in Mike McDaniels systems, coaches from the west coast offense, this system, that system, why the heck aren't coaches designing systems around the strengths of their players rather than trying to find players that fit into a specific system?
If you look at Tuas Alabama highlights then you know it’s not the coach it’s him 💯
Amen.
It’s so messed up that anytime I hear about Tua now all I can hear is “hawk tuah”
I think its spelled "hauk tuah" but point still stands. I will never not hear it either. 😂
Probably because he can't complete a pass in a playoff game to save his life? He's only had what, one healthy season? His production is padded by one of the best and most expensive WR groups in the NFL? IDK you pick
Also he hasn’t proven that he’s any good in cold conditions
Great response!
THIS
Hawk Tua is over rated
Casual take
So when you have a good wr group you’re not supposed to put up numbers?? Great logic!
No-brainer? I'm gonna have to disagree with that.
It's the same conversation with all of these QBs now. Kyler, Lamar, Trevor Lawrence, Herbert, Dak, Jordan Love....the percentage of cap that a QB takes up is so prohibitive that no team wants to dedicate that much space to a QB with holes in their game and hamstring the rest of the roster.
Don't want another Dan Marino happening in Miami, sh%t give him a manageable contract and go out there and get some Dawgs that can compliment the team.
Yeah, it's definitely not a no brainier. Tua freezes in big moments.
@@JackKnoxxyeah. He’s under contract this year. I would play him this year and if they don’t win a playoff game then there’s no point in resigning him. If they can’t win with tua, Tyreek, and waddle then they may as well try for another qb
Tua and Lamar are bare-minimum top five QBs, and I'd easily argue top three.
Every player has "holes in their game," wanting to handicap a team by playing Russian Roulette with the most important position every three to five years is about the dumbest thing imaginable, let alone when an undeniable top 10-12 QB in a league that's growing in the number legitimately good to great QBs.
And that's not even getting into how it's made dumber by the fact that you'd either have to tank a year or trade all of your Draft capital over one to three years, and/or a major player, to get a shot at drafting a guy who's at least as good as the guy you're proposing to let go of, and you're only wanting to rent him for a few years. *And then*, there's the fact that there'll probably be some change in the near-future about the QB hit on the Cap.
@ThatFalloutGod
A) Changes in QB cap or anything similar have been strongly denied by everyone with influence. I agree a change needs to be made but there is nothing on the rise in the near future.
B) League growing in QB talent I would hard disagree.
C) The amount of sacrifice to get a new QB that might end up not even being on the same level is extremely true and part of the gamble.
D) Most importantly....I 10000% disagree with saying Tua or Lamar are undeniable top 10 or top 3 QBs. The deficit in your game aren't equal. Tua's arm isn't getting stronger. Lamar's athleticism will erode over time and an increase in coverage recognition has a bad track record.
Seems like there is zero chance he plays on the 5th year option. PFF's 2024 analysis seems pretty fair: Tua’s arm is adequate for the NFL level, but it doesn't get him out of trouble. either. He trusts head coach and play-caller Mike McDaniel a lot, which is a good thing, but there are times when he is too reliant on what the play should be and not what the best decision actually is post-snap.
Both sides dont want to budge so maybe a creative 3yr deal would work.
It's near impossible to pur a play together in 2 seconds
Dan McAfee? Pat Orlovsky? Can’t tell who’s who
Pat and Dan have been going at each other subliminally the last few appearances
If Tua is saying no to 55 a year then the dolphins are dodging a bullet. In no reality would I want Tua on my team more than Tyreek. He has a concerning injury history and hasn’t proven to be a talent elevator. For that much I had better be getting Mahomes, Burrow, Allen, or Lamar.
Right
While I agree Tua isn’t a top 5 QB to warrant $50m+/year, he’s still quite a bit better than Lawrence.
You can thank the jags for giving an average dude #1 money so expect Tua to get $55.5m+/year
Didn't Tua say a few weeks ago the market is the market? So he's probably looking to be the highest paid at 55+.
@@shootermike65 the issue with ppl that keeps bringing up Lawrence doesn’t realize he also getting paid to help lead this team while they are building a new stadium. Jacksonville can’t afford to rebuild when they need fans in the seats to bring in much needed revenue with a new stadium. So keeping Lawrence, who’s proven to at the very least have them playoff relevant, goes a long way
Whatever you pay Tua now will look like a good deal in a couple years. Qb market only going up
Skylar was 18 of 45, 1 TD and 2 picks in that bills game ... I wouldn't say anyone was WIDE open in that game... That same season Tua tied Marino for single game touchdown passes with 6 in a comeback victory against the Ravens in Baltimore throwing for over 400 yards... OH that was cause of Tyreek and Waddle my bad.... stupid.
This! Anyone who remembers that playoff game knows it was the battle of Skylar Thompson and Josh Allen both trying to throw the ball to the other team! 😅
I swear, whenever that Baltimore game comes up it feels like people try to gaslight you into thinking Tyreek and Waddle were throwing to themselves for 11 receptions, 170+ yards and 2 TDs each! 😂
tus sucks litlle boy
People will see when Tua is gone how good he was
Tua's play off stats 20 of 40 1 TD 1 INT. Looks pretty close to me.
@@phantomshadowfax5431 I mean, Patty's stats in the same game were 23 of 41 and 1TD. So what I'm hearing is Tua is 2 or 3 completions and an INT from greatness! 🤣
Think Pat has taken Dan "shopping?" Sorry, couldn't help it lol.
they know they can do better 😂
The hauk tuah girl has ruined me 😂😂
lol whoever put No Brainer in the title is a hoot
Everybody knows a windshield wiper fart is way bigger than any girl who "spits on that thang." And sad that Tua gets disrespected because the internet can't spell what some girl drunkenly said. "Hock tuuuh" somehow gets turned into "hawk tuah"
Idk bro Ryan Fitzpatrick got them about as far as tua can
Oh yes, he went 5-11 that season before. Keep trying
Probably because you can put any QB in there with that WR group.
Not in that offensive system. We shift & use motion more than any team in the league. Like him or not, him staying healthy with the team we have is better than anything we've had since Marino.
@@CSpadyou play for the dolphins? Jay Fiedler got us further but Tuas the best since Marino? Stop it
@@scottymiller93your not wrong, I think people just forget about that cause it was 20+ years ago. And Jay Fiedler only had four seasons with us. I don’t remember why we never kept him. I was a kid at that time still a huge dolphin fan, but didn’t really get the politics at the time
@@CSpad yeah, the fact that that’s Miami’s offensive scheme is why other QBs would be better in it. Imagine having a Joe Burrow or Justin Herbert in that system that could make all the throws that Tua does plus more and they’re also more mobile so they can extend the play too. Crazy thought.
@@TheRedsox040711 I don’t think so at all dude those guys can throw the ball 90 yards but they can’t throw as accurate of a 40 to 50 yard pass as well as Tua the statistics prove that it’s not an opinion. They would have to learn and be coached up to an entire skill to be able to release the ball as quick as Tua; and not to mention the timing of the play Tua does that better than any QB as well. Those QBs are used to an offense that allows them to improvise. Tua doesn’t need to improvise because he runs the play exactly how it’s supposed to be ran. He hardly ever throws to a second or third read.
We're gonna get over that hump this year, we're gonna beat the good teams, and scare people going into the playoffs.
Sounds like they’re trying to Hawk-TUA off the team
Insert Jake browning in Miami
As a dolphins fan I want Tua and the dolphins to agree on a contract but what I don't like is the hate on Tua mainly that he is "system quaterback" when 1 every quarterback is a system quarterback and 2. Do dolphins fans not rember when Tua was injured and sklyar/ Mike white was our qb .
They don't want to talk about it and some of these clowns thinks Skyler is better. Apparently they don't even watch the games and just love to make up crap about Tua and it's all his fault. I've never so many delusional clowns in my life.
Get a deal done and get him in Camp !! They've got all the pieces in place... don't screw it up Miami..
It's amazing what a short memory span commentators and fans have... Tua, two years ago had SO MANY CONCUSSIONS in a single season, that there was SERIOUS TALK about "Maybe this guy should stop playing football for his long term health." Anyone remember that? Did everyone just forget that was a thing? And before the last season, it was, "This guy stinks!" Tua absolutely should NOT get a mega contract. What has he done to deserve it? No QB should ever warrant a mega contract when they haven't won a SINGLE PLAYOFF GAME, and more importantly, when his long-term health is in serious doubt.
Only 2 and with that awful o line
can't stop watching
Tua has the most stacked offense and STILL struggles against decent defenses and just falls apart. The dude isn't good and is always hurt. Imagine this offense with Herbert? I was against drafting Tua, and he turned out exactly how I predicted he would be.
I agree 👍🏻
He doesn't have the most stacked offense just a really good receiver and a overpriced one stfu
@@Raansu Damn you Miami fans are blind as hell if you think Tua is trash. I have never seen so many people cry about 4000 plus yards and 30 touchdowns before hahahaI pray you all get rid of him so you know what it’s really like to have a bad qb 🤣🤣🤣
1. Tua started all games this year so he’s not always hurt.
2. Lots of injuries to players like Hill and Waddle doesn’t help.
3. Having a center that started playing center that season hurts.
Is Tua the greatest QB, no, he has flaws, but is still a really great quarterback.
He struggles because of our terrible o line. They got him hurt to start with. Herbert definitely is not better than Tua and proved it. Herbert can't get the ball out to receivers in 2 seconds every play
do people understand how accurate you have to be to throw to a receiver as fast as tyreek or waddle in stride.
Daniel Jones has won more playoff games than Tua with a worse roster, stop making excuses. Daniel Jones and Carson Wentz would win multiple rings if they were starting on the Dolphins.
@@DrakathDrago what are you talking about? I said nothing about his playoff performances. Daniel Jones bout to he and the GM fired when doesn't produce yet again. He'll be traded by week 8
@@rcng086 Can you not read? It's simple. If he can't throw a football to some of the best receivers in the league, he doesn't deserve to be the starting QB. It's really not that hard to understand. CJ Stroud showed up more than Tua did all season long as a rookie, a ROOKIE.
@@DrakathDrago dude you bouncing from CJ to Daniel Jones to Carson Wentz. Daniel won't win anything no matter who's on his team. People like you just don't want to like Tua. I bet you agree with Daniel Jones contract don't you

Cuz he’s an average QB that has an array of weapons around him and he still can’t get it done. 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
When they almost beat the bills in Buffalo with Skyler Thompson that's when Skylar Thompson actually had a full week of starter reps Tua is not the only QB who can run this offense
Skyler was terrible that game
@@greygoosetall they lost by 3 points tf are you talking about
@@rockafellagoldThe box score doesn’t tell the entire story, Skylar threw two picks and only completed 40% of passes for 220 yards.
@@GWJ28 how many times Tua threw 2 picks in a game for less yards but y'all want say he played terrible y'all will say it was the coach fault it was the defense didn't hold up the oline was bad but never Tua was terrible lol that's crazy
@@rockafellagold He’s actually only done it two times. Also yes Tua does have some flaws, but people seem to forget everything else going on with the dolphins at that time.
Dan is a such a clown. It’s a multitude of reasons. Not just Tua or the coach, did you forget about his receiving corps?
They are just drawing it out for dramatic effect
Ross got a tampering charge for trying to ditch Tua for Brady, they even wanted Watson over him . Ross & Grier paying Tua a big contract is the same as saying they were all wrong about him.
That incident is the reason Tua's playing hardball too.
Tua has played better than either of them could of. Watson still not playing good and Brady would of got killed behind our o line.
@@tuat.mvpformallybigd.2635 100%
@@roguebossano doubt Tua kept receipts.
The deal isn’t done because the dolphins want to see what the packers do with Jordan Love(playoff win qb)
It’s crazy to wait. Love is just going to push the number higher.
@@danhall76 No his agent will do that while Love sits out. The drama these days.
Maybe look at it this way....does he get even remotely close to those stats without waddle or hill???
Yes, he played very well before Hill got there. Only 2 seconds to find receiver and throw to him is pretty impressive
@tuat.mvpformallybigd.2635 2020 Tua 1814 yards 11tds 5int
2021 Tua 2653 yards 16tds 10 ints that's him b4 hill now with hill
2022-2023 Tua 3548 and 4624 yards 25 and 29 tds so yeah no he didn't play that well b4 him stop it
@georgemurillo4996 OH yes he did. You put the last 2 years together. 1st season he just came off hip surgery and didn't know anything of the playback yet and yet Flores threw him in there because Tua was the best we had but had no business playing. Anyway, I think we will have to agree to disagree or whatever. I don't care anymore. See you in the funny papers I'm sure. Later on, much.
How many games did Skyler play and what was his record????? Stop
Tua threw for nearly 4,700 yards despite having the 31st ranked pass protection and got blamed as soon as a half way decent DEF crushed the Dolphins line, preventing any ability for 2nd and 3rd reads. Gimme a braark!!
This is unreal. Ross needs to go. Tua has improved every season. If Grier had of got a decent o line yrs ago he may of never got hurt. I wouldn't blame him for sitting out without a new contract. Players can't stay healthy and there has to be new play calls. This is going to be a long boring season without Tua. Dolphins have been exciting to watch so far.
DanO ❤
Dan stole Pat's outfit 🤣
I think Tua is saving crazy late play calling McDaniels. Plus telling Hill where to line up !! Pay the dude
No matter how beautifully aimed Tua's passes are, the throw Jordan love makes at 4:23, there is NO WAY Tua is making that same pass with that much velocity! Love has THE arm now. Intermediate accuracy is Tua's amazing specialty, but I don't like how the ball takes its time to get there all the time, if he does not get to drive his hips forward the ball is weak, but that's nit picking of course.
Titans also got no state income tax

Absolutely not
😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣….oh you were serious? No, Tua is not in Burrows league. Burrow is 5-2 in the playoffs, Tua is 0-1. Burrow makes Tua look inept.
Totally agree with you. In his best form Tua can compete with any QB in the league.
@@BaldingElephant what tf are you smoking. You think Tua at his best can compete with Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen and Joe Burrow? You Miami fans must be importing something really good down there because it doesn’t take much to see they’re miles ahead of him.
@@TheRedsox040711 What are YOU smoking? I’m no dolphins fan, So clearly I’m not delusional about Tua being able to compete with the top QB’s. The reason I’m delusional is because i’m a Cowboys fan that believes that Dak can compete with the too QB’s.
Get your facts straight, Son…
They aren’t hesitating? They’ve been open that both want to be with each other and negotiations are happening while Tua will keep working and doing his thing. They have the money for him. A deal this big takes time, it’ll happen but the media won’t shut up about it until then

What do dolphins do otherwise? Another 20+ years of changing QBs every couple years and losing games? You built the system around him and he is the only reasonably available QB that gives you a good chance to win now.
No none thinks going from QB to QB to QB is a winning strategy. But paying an average QB who has played one full season and sucked it up in the playoffs the same kind of money as Patrick Mahomes -- a 3-time Super Bowl Champion, 3-time Super Bowl MVP, 2-time NFL MVP and 4-time AFC Champion -- is not a winning strategy either. The Cowboys did it ... were is the playoff success? The Chargers did it ... where is the playoff success? The Jaguars did it ... where is the success? In the meantime, the Niners and Texans are paying pennies on the dollar and building monster rosters to back up those QBs. Both their QBs have more playoff wins than Tua. And Mahomes is now just the ninth-highest paid QB (tied with Kirk Cousins ... where is the playoff success?) and he has more playoff wins and Super Bowl titles than the rest of the Top 10 combined AND the team just got better with smart draft picks and sneaky little free agent signings. There are several ways to build a team in the NFL: 1) you get your hands on and pay the best QB of that generation and surround him with solid talent - i.e.. Kansas City. 2) you find a solid QB in the draft, pay him nothing and surround him with a team of All-Pro players - i.e, San Francisco. 3) you don't pay anyone - i.e., New England with Mac Jones; or 4) you way overpay for your QB, lose your best players because you can;t pay them, and then can't win because the QB isn't good enough to make a less talented roster relevant - i.e., the Chargers right now. And I love Herbert (wish he was a Dolphin), but the teams best receivers all left because the Chargers couldn't pay them since so much was going to the QB. And if Miami pays Tua $50 million, they will be right there with them soon enough.
Average, do you even watch him play? You sure don't. You just like these other clowns sitting back saying the same ole thing over and over.
@@tuat.mvpformallybigd.2635 Yes ... I have watched him play. Quit drooling over the deep passes the receivers have to run down because he just lobs it up there. Watch when they are in the red zone and the team doesn't call look for him to pass. He does not have the arm strength to put the sip on the ball needed when he has to beat defenders and the passing windows are tight. That's why the Fins rarely call for a quick out. I saw the same thing with Pittsburgh and Pickett. I have been a Dolphins fan since back when Marino was drafted. Coincidentally, the team took Tua over the "next" Marino when they let Herbert fall to the Chargers.
@matthewdigiacomo2580 That's it your just a Herbert lover. Tuas better and it kills you
@@tuat.mvpformallybigd.2635 Please. The Dolphins are going nowhere with Tua. Look at his one chance in the playoffs. A completion percentage of 51%. He is not that guy and he never will be. Tua is shopping for a plantation in Hawaii. Pay him 60 million and his next concussion will have him recovering in Hawaii in retirement. Leaving the team on the hook for years to come.
Isn’t this the same Tua who almost retired in 2022 because of all the head injuries?
He was sick and tired of everything. Flores tried to get rid of him and Ross wouldn't stand up for him. McDaniel believed in him and look what a difference it made. The o line last yr a little better but ranked 32nd. Tua has not been treated right since he's been there and Hill came there to play with Tua to get all them yards.
What's the alternative to not paying Tua top dollar if that's what he wants? Wait another 20yrs to find a decent Qb. No way, man, let's run with Tua and this crew for another 5yrs it's at least super fun to watch!
