Hands down the BEST video on youtube comparing the two. Since everyone was talking about the worse battery life and screen resolution on the S2, I was wondering how it was considered an upgrade of any kind. Now I know.

I definitely like the tab S due to the aspect ratio. ..videos just look better in the wide screen aspect ratio. the only thing is that's better is the internal 32gb on the tab S 2

@@GuyfromEarth3000 Wait. Good catch. I am on Nougat. My bad. It has really good battery life now tho. Out of the box the Tab S 8.4 has terrible on screen time and battery life in general. But if you root it and flash a custom kernel/rom(I use Deathly kernel and Liquid Death OS rom) it really improves battery life and performance.
This is the rom I am currently using. forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-s/development/rom-liquiddeathos-sm-t700-t3554387

Thank you for this great video. Could you please do me a favor? Could you try and see how the IGN app is displayed? On my Tab S 8.4 it can't be displayed on landscape mode, only portrait mode. In my iPad Mini I can see use it in landscape mode. What I would like to know is if the reason I can't use the landscape mode in my Tab S it's because the IGN app detects it a 16:10 screen and not a 4:3 one so that if I were to buy the S2 8.0 (4:3) I could use said IGN app in landscape mode. Thank you!

    Great video Saki!
The older Tab S is a super Tab! I have the 10.5 inch, super smooth in every aspect. But the most important reason for me staying on the older, is the battery at 7900mAh. I believe the bigger S2's battery is only about 5300mAh.
And the 16:10 res is by far the better in my book, since it's much better for movies/videos. But actually also for reading and browsing social media. I kinda like the narrow reading format, more newspaper like, if you will.

although the tab s 8.4 is the best so far, I would advice you to get the s2 8.0.
why? 1) because only the s2 will get the marshmallow update
    2) when the Samsung Galaxy tab comes out (most likely by mid 2016), you will get a good sale deal because it's newer than the tab s 8.4 . just list it on ebay.
so if you want the new best thing .lol . get tab s2. but if you want the best best thing especially for movies and multitasking, get tab s 8.4.

I think the tab s 2 is a bit of a failure, going with an ipad aspect ratio just ruins it. 16.9 was the best. the only thing that is good about the tab s is the processor but even then it's slower than the Ipad Air 2 as the geekbench for that is 4529 and that tablet is a year old. Sticking with my Tab S 10.5 for sure.

+nemesissisemen yeah, 16.9 is the way too go. I think the Tab S2 was a gamble for Samsung, I mean there was no adverts or big release for it like the original Tab S. Hopefully the Tab S3 goes back to 16.9 but I'd go for the First gen Tab S. It's still very quick ( keeps up with my iPhone 6 ) and still has the super AMOLED screen. Looks amazing!!

+Joe Pinder Yea the first gen tab S is ok but i cant bring myself to justify its purchase now, both with it being released over a year ago and even though it is fast, the S2 and other tabs available now outperform it by a significant amount.. my first tab was the tab 7.7 with its beautiful amoled screen, then got the note 2 but felt it was small since i got used to a tab now hoping for another tab.. looks like i'll fall back to my initial choice, the mediapad x2 and see what sammy does next year with their tabs, the x2 has a weak software offering on stock and no amoled screen of course but with its performance and some rooting and romming and third party apps, i might make it work out.. sigh.. no amoled.. ah well, thx for the info man..

The tab s2 to me is a huge let down. I want a new tablet but I think I will have to go with the older version. The new aspect ratio is a deal breaker. My question is the tab s you have in the video had lollipop but does it have the multi window option like you showed on the tab s2.

weng with the S2. Before you guys go crazy I have used an S and I just like the Tab S2 much better and thats better in my opinion. The screen "looks" better. Camera is better. Speed is leaps and bounds better. Battery life is a little better. All those considered it is the better buy for me. Plus the Tab S2 LTE costs the equivalent of $380 in my country and the S costs an equivalent of $300. So both are pretty affordable

I love my Galaxy Tab S1, and will continue to stick with it, but there's only one issue i have with it, and that is the storage. 16GB is not enough to keep everything on there. Infact i had to reset the system because something was taking up the entire storage, and i couldn't do anything from download apps, updates or even take photos. I couldn't figure it out what it was. Now that i did, i have a few GB's left.

Yes i know, but i couldn't do anything with it as the main storage was used up by something i couldn't find. It wouldn't even let me update the system or the apps. That's why 16GB isn't a good amount of space. I already had a 64GB sd card inside, so there are no problems there.

you can get a sd card thing that can add a lot of gigs I think the highst is 128 but some come like a lot like 60

Damn, you know how to do a review. Spectacular. You sold me on the older version. The deal breaker was the aspect ratio. I don't like the 4.3.

just wanted to point out something you clearly missed at your final conclusion even though it's rather obvious: do go for the Tab S 8.4 instead of the new model if you are planning on using the device for video watching more than book reading...! also, I kind of missed some content on the fact that multi tasking on a 4:3 is rather less useful than on a 16:10 (more feeling of working space, that is why most professional offices have 16:10 screens nowadays...)
