I have to disagree with you about USA having better schools than Mexico. I have gone to both, public schools in USA and Mexico - MEXICO is the winner by far! Much better education. Have you seen what they are teaching in our schools today (In the USA)? Garbage! The teachers don't even bother to show up any more! I feel sorry for the kids that have to go to public schools in the US now. On another note, can you two make a video in Puerto Vallarta? I would love to see one there. :)

Dude the high school I used to go to in Reno, Nevada was lowkey bad, So it's not true public education is not the best here, I tell you this cuz I experienced it and you can't tell me otherwise, I could see kids ditching/skipping 1 or more classes and the teachers would do nothing, It doesn't depend on the school but on you you could be studying in Africa but if you really wanna study you'll achieve your goals

Great video! But I disagree in regards to K12. It depends where in the US, but there are major gaps in funding, performance and integration in most public schools in the US and it shows by the fact 54% of U.S. adults 16-74 years old lack proficiency in literacy, reading below the equivalent of a sixth-grade level. Not to mention we usually rank way below in math, science and other subjects compared to many countries.

    • @sergtana
      @sergtana  Před 2 lety +4

Yeah, unfortunately public schools in the US have major issues in many areas. However, public schools in the US do a better job than in Mexico to reflect their district's society. If a school district in the US isn't diverse then the school isn't either. The specific distinction we see is that it's very common for middle class children to go to private school in Mexico and in the US, public education is good enough for people across socioeconomic statuses. I am by no means saying that it's perfect and I think the US could do so much to help underprivileged districts achieve more equity but in relation to Mexico, I still think they're in a better place.

    • @fergomez3817

@@sergtana Education in the US is very complex and depends on many factors including local, state, and federal funding.
I’ve heard of too many examples of people trying to move in to a good school district, and if you can’t do that then people who can afford it do send their kids to private or Catholic schools and it creates a divide between the haves and have Nots.
Education in the US is also used for personal gains by religious, business and political leaders but that is too much to get into 🤷🏻‍♂️

I love how he called himself an expat and proceeded to call everyone else in the US immigrants in the beginning of the video. The hipocrisy is real!
Also said people in the US are all about planning and seeing the future. If the country is progressive, then why not stay there? Probably because capitalism doesn't allow you to live. Honestly for the $1,200 you pay for one bedroom in Mexico you could have gotten the same in Texas, Florida or Alabama and stay in the progressive country. The US soccer team still sucks and no one takes them seriously. And I'm from the US, living in the US.

But, the only way to extend the purchasing power between both countries the use of credit cards and installment plans they provide is the same thing living Mexico and USA.

I was surprised listening to your video. I live in Phx. and plan to relo to Puerto Vallarta. America is going DOWN on quality of education, so you are best to go to private school in Mexico. The highways and roads are much better and much safer than in Mexico. The food chain is much better in Mexico, because there's lots of natural fruits and veggies there - only the beef is better in the USA. I was surprised you mention clothing - Mexico has very good quality cotton products and I always find their upscale stores have excellent choices, too. We have many things cheaper in the USA if it's electronics, etc. I was surprised Mexico has a higher level of home ownership than the USA has. In the USA they build houses our to ticky-tacky and forest products, but in Mexico it's all cement and rebar.

I get where you’re coming from (we missed seeing Tana tonight though). From my point of view, diversity of food in the USA, when eaten in a mini-mall, has zero comparison to savoring every fresh bite here. Also, literally all of my friends in CDMX, are much more educated and multi-lingual that folk in the USA. Agree about cheap clothes from an outlet in the USA. Frankly, that’s not my focus. Why are high-end designers more prevalent here? Mexicans are more like Europeans…quality over quantity. Also, Mexicans actually vote over the weekend and is a right for ALL citizens. I’ll take that form of democracy over what’s happening in the USA. Any day!!! Hugs to Winnie!!!

I'm not sure where you have been in the USA to think Americans aren't educated in comparison? Americans have fought and won two world wars in order to save the world, which granted them the ability to replace French with the English language making it the universal global language, cutting out the need for the unnecessary. When in Mexico, many people can't speak the global language. Most of the healthcare and scientific breakthroughs have happened in the USA. From aircrafts, cars, medicine, space missions, computers, software, etc. That takes intellect and an education. I wish for Mexico to come out with inventions rather than just manufacturing other countries creations. Mexico does have nice clothing, food, and culture, but then again, so do most countries around the world. The US really sets itself apart from anywhere I've been, and I've been all over the place.

Definitely, no country is perfect. For instance, a curse for México is sharing a border with the world’s #1 consumer of illegal drugs.
There is no teetering democracy in the world more politically and socially divided/dysfunctional than the United States today. That’s heartbreaking to me. When gun violence, inequality, racism, access to affordable education and health care for all, debt, etc. is thrown into the mix, well, you get my drift.
Anyway, life is short and full of differing opinions upon what brings a person happiness. The universal language for me is … do people live without fear/anger, actually smile and say hello to those they encounter along their daily path? For that reason alone, prefiero besar la tierra mexicana.

You can get anything from any sword company, just order online and the blade goes straight to your place like it was pizza. In terms of landscapes, both have everything. The US has little jungle but it has it on its islands, just as Mexico has little taiga but it has it on its snow-capped mountains. Both have everything but the US generally has cold climates and Mexico tropical climates.
But I give credit to Mexico because despite being smaller than the US, which is at least four times its size, Mexico has more or the same number of climates.
