I used red for a red bottom, I had forgot to mention it in the video. But honestly you can leave it clear or add any color if you want it to show through after filling down. And for the plastic it peels right off as seen in the video 😉
I’ll be honest I’m not big on gel, from my understanding the difference is it’s consistency and it’s durability. About the polish I wouldn’t because regular polish air drys as to gel it cures so that might be a good idea, but if you wanted to create your own color with the gel you can try adding pigment and also glitters 🥰
But you are using builder gel..that is gel right..I heard someone say that you can use a little acrylic powder in the gel to make it more like a sculpting gel....
It’s an incapsulated Design, if you file it to much you’ll remove some of the design and you’ll have a hole different effect. Honestly you can definitely play around with this type of technique, theirs no rules to this just be creative have fun make it your own 🥰

So what was the purpose of the red on the bottom? And if you cure the plastic for the whole minute won’t that be kind of hard to remove?

Yes in this video I used the builder gel to create the effect and I incapsulated with acrylic this is considered a hybrid nail
