Equipment used.: Ibanez KIKO100 D'Addario NYXL 10-46 Bogner Atma no pedals ( no booster, delays or reverb) Nikon 70D audio from the camera. Very simple and direct. My idea was not to fake a perfect performance. Any comments?

Yea incredible. I started to play it and I guess this song is really difficult (I started "Tornado" n for me it is easier). Kiko you can play it with a really pretty fluidity, and I 'll have to work a lot again to get it as you do lol. I work on my Ty Tabor Yamaha lol. Thanks to share, hope to see you one day on stage. Nice playing. I remember auditioning for Megadeth before Rust In Peace. Once I pulled out my 12 string electric guitar they told me to leave. Dave did buy me a burger though
That's typical Mustaine BS Hypocracy . Dave played his 10 string BC Rich Bich from 1981 - 1983 in Metallica . He played it also in early Megadeth from 1983 - 1985 . He played his signature custom Jackson / ESP 10 string Double Neck guitars in the late 80's all through the 90's .

@emceesmith6665 yes, but make no mistake: all of this is Dave's brainchild, his creativity, his soundscape, riffs and so on. This is Dave Mustaine.
Doesnt take away from Marty, Kiko and the others. They are pretty much guitar gods; but Dave is an amazing character, an amazing mind. For someone with no musical education, and with his background and personality, i think he created something incredible.
So basically.. Dave knee you were brilliant. Your “audition” was to see if you two were compatible. To see if you guys liked each other. The rest is history. ( Thank God). You are brilliant.. you and Dave.. fantastic..

Holy Wars was my first trash song to learn on guitar, this song is really good exercise if you're interested in learning the genre. Took me two months to just master the riffs but it's worth it!

I learned this song years ago when it was first released, but the thing I never understood is how can Dave Mustaine play those verse riffs and actually sing over them? To me that's mind boggling.
Man that precision is just insane... what a monster guitarist.
I've kinda just made my peace with the fact that I will never learn this song, 100% correctly. Just the verse riff alone is enough to leave most guitarists going "wait...wtf?"

agree, would love to know... .although when you've been a professional musician your whole life, my guess is that his guitar is as natural as speaking for him. its just so fluid and easy for him to do....
If you're a guitarist/bassist, and also you really love the band you're learning songs from, it comes much easier. Trying to learn something you don't enjoy really shows this lol.
Yup, it was all by ear, he basically memorizes each and every part of the song, he said he doesn't like writing stuff down

Every time I tune my ears in to old megadeth I keep hearing Spit out the Bone riffs. I know there's only so much you can do in thrash and the bands were cut from the same cloth but Megadeth truly created some fucking incredible music and here we have yet another phenomenal guitar player to add to their history. Some of the greatest, most iconic thrash guitar playing of all time in these songs. Dave made and excellent choice, sir 🙏

@Rotten to the Core! I've never been able to put Reign in Blood as a good song iny my mind. The intro section is fantastic, but it becomes incredibly messy. There's betteer thrash to listem to at that point

as a Brazilian i can say he's a really nice guy. when he was in Brasil, i had friends in the underground thrash metal scene from my city, and many of them had took classes with Kiko, and only had good things to say about him. I've never got to meet him, but im sure that he's a "normal" person, that you could sit somewhere and talk to, like an old friend
