Oh, olives. Of course they're great as a snack! Even as a little kid, my parents would put out olives for company, and I'd become the secret olive thief. Anyway, I love the Oregon coast! Damn, it's stunning! Loved the drone shots. I did find it surprisingly difficult to stealth camp along the entire coast, for some reason. You just pulled off the highway? I slept in downtown Cannon Beach, and I couldn't believe that I didn't get "the knock"!

Yeah, that humidity can be a real bummer - everything gets that damp feeling. 😕 Your quesadillas look SO much more delicious than my can of soup. Are you near Tillamook? Don't forget the cheese! 😉
It's definitely a difficult area to stealth camp in. I was nervous basically every night thinking I was gonna get the knock lol I would never forget Cheese ❤️

I've seen tons of videos in which they found places to stealth camp overnight sometimes parked among trees overlooking the ocean but every single time I asked where they found a place to park (like in between what towns?), they didn't answer.

Gold Beach has NFS camping. 2 campgrounds and one local one with pay showers. On the Rogue. River. Brookings has places too. Several State parks north of Gold Beach.
I know about the humidity, I was born and raised in the Seattle area but been in the desert of the southwest last ten years and ever since I acclimated to the desert whenever I go back up its so sticky and its about that time here soon, gotta be back up by june 23rd at least for motoAmerica in Shelton Wa which is a must see, so close to the peninsula think imma camp up around there somewhere? some fun stuff to do in Seattle in the summer, festivals so forth, maybe Vancouver BC for the fireworks festival? they have some nice beaches up there in BC..
when i was hitchhiking the oregon coast i found a landromat with a quarter shower it was amazing best quarters ive spent in my life.. water pressure and temp were great.. also austin hot springs was my favorite hot spring in or ...
most all of your Marinas will have pay showers, of course truck stops so forth, lots of the camping grounds have shower up there get the book, you don't have to pay fora spot to take a shower at most of them.. some are free, some are pay but not much, a few quarters if I remember, been while but most all your public marinas have showers as boats generally don't have showers, many have laundromats as well so its a double shot .. like I said before the DeLorme maps show all that kind of stuff specially your modern ones, but hale the ones I bought in the early 80's had a lot a key for that in the legend.. I guess today you just hit the map and it will show you the closest marina with shower and or laundromat, many on the coast for sure, more of them near your bigger cities for sure but I have seen small town marinas have full accommodations, all depends, decent places to sleep too if ya have curtains

Where was this at 4:35 or so? I'm wondering if the Oregon coast humidity is similar to Florida's. I came to Florida last mid-December and hated feeling wet all the time. Now it's February and dry here in Florida, but I hate humidity and am wondering if the Oregon coast is as bad as Florida. I know further down the coast in California it's not humid.

Where were you at on the Oregon coast? I'm heading out there to car camp and am anxious about where to park overnight in my Camry Condo and where to shower. Shower at gyms??
Oh! FYI, I'm in a SUV also. I have a shower toga to shower at my car in the summer and a TailVeil and a collapsible doggie pool to shower in the winter. I put the TailVeil with rain fly up. Turn on my Mr. Buddy heater. Pop up the pool. Use a 2 liter bottle with the shower attachment to shower. Dry off. Get dressed. Pour out the water. Put everything away and I'm good. I go to a park in the morning before anyone's out and about.
Honestly, that is also a very good system! As long as I have a secluded spot away from people I can make it work. But the oregon coast is just so full of people!

If you want to attract a Bigfoot, although I don't recommend it, when you are in the woods, try whistling, then take a fallen tree branch and try swinging the branch and hitting the trunk of a tree with the branch. If you hear the sound of whistling, screaming, yelling, knocking on wood, or the rustling of something in the forest, I advise you to get out of there. Quickly!

It's amazing how much the scenery can change in such a short distance. I lock my doors pretty much whenever I'm in my car. It's the only way I'm comfortable. I appreciate your concern ❤️
