Long build-ups are actually a big part of techno, adding layer upon layer of sounds until its all smashed in your face in a huge crescendo . When you are in a big sweaty pit raving its like a spiritual experience in a church when a good techno DJ knows how to layer it all up into a big soup of sound.

imo techno tracks are very long but allow you to mix them with 3-4 decks, and using the variations to keep the public interested, going back and forth from one track to another

Old School EJay user, here. The Helicopter kicks you describe are called "Axe Kicks" that have a fast and dirty reverb added to them, but I love your title, Helicopter, to describe them far better!

im very much looking forward to the time hardtec and hardstyle merge into a new genre
It's already happening, it just doesn't have an agreed upon name yet and still goes under "hardtechno" "tiktok techno" or "neorave"
but it's mostly a mix of schranz/hardtechno, psy- and hardtrance, as well as early hardstyle and some rawstyle elements
it really doesn't have much to do with the classic definition of techno anymore so I think it's fair that it gets its own name and parties, so that it doesn't take over all the parties still playing "regular" techno
Im sure q dance will find a name for it soon the same way the came up the name hardstyle @@bassterix7151
DXPE (Hardtechno producer) has a collab/release lined up this year with a hardstyle producer. I'm not sure who but I think it may be Geck-o (He makes all sorts these days though)
@@seaton591 love Geck-o, definitely hard dance umbrella main, but he's always been genre-fluid. check out The Funky Cat. mans is very close to DJ Thera, making and playing stuff anywhere from trance to 132bpm mainstage, to hard techno, to double-digit bpm qult/q-base stuff, or even house and electro pop sorta dance music.

I have been hearing a lot of techno tracks over the last year that remind me of the old school warehouse rave scene of the mid 90's with all of the acid elements and repetitive kick drums.

Pretty sure the "helicopter kick" is a gated kick, you get the initial kick then usually 3 gated mini kicks afterwards, a bit like psytrance
I think u need to react next to some psytrance goa trance and such, you would be amazed on how sounds are really created and interlaced
