Jim's mom must have been a hell of a person.
He's definitely gotten it from somewhere it seems
Mama Cornette for HOF.
We need to see mama cornettes time keepers licenses lol
As a proud Rabbit Ridgian, I get a big ego boost when Jim mentions my little hometown with less than 500 people.
It's the same thing when he occasionally mentions TV taping or interviews in Gainesville Georgia lol. I'm originally from there & watched NWA/WCW from the fall of 1990 till the summer of 1998 at Georgia Mountains Center in Gainesville. Also when he mentions the name of Lanny Poffo, Lanny is my real 1st name lol.
Damn. Shout out to Ma Cornette.
That license deal still went on in some places in the 2000's at Indy shows
Same in Texas and Louisiana
From the thumbnail, I thought that was Judge Judy.
I'm in Lexington, a co-worker of mine had a "License" for years. Our autobody shop was 3 blocks from Rupp Arena
I’d like to hear more about athletic commissions. I never heard of them until Jim started talking about them.
The Illinois Athletic Commission used to appoint the referees. A good many of them were not smart to the business, which is why the boys of that era could work, because they had to work the referee, as well as the crowd.
@@jeffnettleton3858As a kid, I attended quite a few wrestling shows that were overseen by the IAC (Illinois Athletic Commission). The referees were awful, usually 75 year old men, with ill fitting uniforms with that big state of Illinois patch on the front.
Vince blew off Kayfabe in Meadowlands NJ to explain the Athletic Commission was no longer needed because "entertainment, not sport"
Look on CZcams for the full WWWF wrestling shows. In the very beginning of the show you will see the ring announcer tell the audience all of the licensed names involved. The State Commissioner, the deputy commissioner in attendance, the referees, the time keeper at the bell, the doctor in attendance, and the last one announced was the ring announcer himself. In Pennsylvania these were the same people who ran amateur and professional boxing. Vince Jr. got rid of all of them when he declared that wrestling was predetermined entertainment and not a sport. The commission at one time prohibited lady wrestlers. No children under 16 were permitted in the audience. They also had a curfew in Philadelphia of 10:00 PM. All matches that ran over the curfew needed the permission of the deputy commissioner in attendance. The Spectrum shows were always interrupted with the announcement of the commission waiving the nights curfew.
It really does show how good the government was in not knowing what's real and what's a work. For decades!😅
*MAMA CORNETTE*
"Ian Rotten comes in with gig marks on his head cutting a Promo on the Kentucky Athletic Commission. So they revoke his wrestling license, his promoters license. ... They also tried to revoke his drivers license" - Jim Cornette
Im gonna sell gimmicks 😂😂😂
That makes Mama Cornette eligible for the hall of fame, right??? How many time keepers lost their licenses because they lost control of the ring bell during a match?
I always used to like it when after the match the goons would come to the ring and continue the beat down because their guy lost and whoever it was rang the hell outta the bell like it was gonna stop them from what stomping out their victim. I'm 43, I don't remember Vince letting them do that too much but it seemed like on WcW it happened all the time. - sorry for the long message pal I'm fighting to deliver a nasty dump at 5am and I'm trying to drop the kids off at the pool and by the spitter and splatter I think they got chopped up. I'm scared to go in for the wipe. Time to put down the phone. Wish me luck in my future endeavors. 😢
Cannot get enough of Travis Mama Cornette 😂
Wondering if they forgot about the video on Roman Reigns’ biography.
Oh man I thought that was Dr Ruth .
Always in Pikeville,ky as well
I remember him talking about this, about few months ago.
Mrs. Cornette in the artwork looks exactly like an old neighbor we had as a kid lol. Only her hair was longer, Lily Mae James was her name & she'd spend every penny she had on the TV jewelry channels lol.
i swear this was a reupload?
yes it is, from quite some time ago
This is true to this day in KY. I have a KY wrestler’s license now and you have to be licensed to be in the ringside area at all. They raised the price this year for my license from $25 to $40 lol smh.
Are there any videos on Papa Cornette? And could anybody point me in that direction?
With the way wrestlers are getting injured state athletic commissions should really start taking it more seriously again as a whole.
More about athletic commissions
Brian has heard this before. This isn't the first time Jim's talked about his mom having a license
I vividly remember this as well. Jim mentioned it not too long ago. Unless it's just a repost of that same conversation it sounds awfully similar. Oh well, Ishii-eeee-eeeee-eeeeee
Dude, I swear he just told this story like 2 weeks ago.
@@WyattHolliday it's not been very long. Maybe a few months tho
Momma C.. ❤❤
Ole Anderson lost the Kentucky territory from Vince McMahon 😂
That Backlash review gonna be a week old. 🤣
It wouldn't be if you actually listened to the proper podcast, you expect it out in full for free as soon as it's out?
@@kevkane9485 shhhhhh
@@markfroman738 no.
@@kevkane9485 for free he says, hahaha. Lil bro, they pump as many ads as possible in their podcasts, sometimes they are nearly 10 minutes long. They have them in their original podcasts, they have them again in their short clips, again in their cut-up (aew/wwe) episodes and one more time in their full podcast reuploads. And this is not even counting the ad revenue they get from CZcams. So no, they ain't doing shit for free, you can be sure of that. The least we could get for being farmed at least 4 times, is for them to do their only job a little bit quicker.
@@kevkane9485 yeah yeah yeah
Mama Corny FTW! 😂❤
Mama, Trumpet
Is it true that Uncle Elmer had the best moonshine in the south?
is that judge judy
Kentucky charges fees for everything
Howdy friends 🤠
Imagine Mama Cornette cutting a promo.
Jim cornette for HOF
Lol😮
Ian Rotten destroyed pro wrestling in Kentucky.
Backlash review boy
All Hail Mama Cornette!
Can we get the backlash review please? What in the fuck is going on??
Jim opened his mom up to a whole different world.
I don’t even know how to react to this diction
@@pleaseshutup7053 is it a hard diction?
What's the deal with all the childish bleeping?
I think it's a monetisation thing. I listen to the full 'casts usually (and will go to the full ep and scan to re-listen to parts) so don't usually watch cornyclips on yt, but a lot of other videos I watch will censor swears, especially those made by content creators (as opposed to film clip channels and the like).
@@SpiderRiviera They censor goddamn but not fuck or cunt so it doesn't make a lot of sense. Plus that does not affect monetisation anyway. And since when do they even care about YT monetisation?
I would like to hear Jim talk about Mama Cornette more. She sounds like an interesting person
This is not Jim's best subject matter
Its a true fact
As opposed to a false fact, or a true lie?
First lol.
Hey Jim how did your mom die ?
He doesn't read comments, but lung cancer.
