    My husband works / worships Thor I got him a necklace with the hammer. He left for basic training for the US Army Sunday he wanted me to wear it when I go to bed to help with anxiety, since I’ve been wearing it I haven’t had any or wanted to cry due to my husband being away for 7 months. So, I totally agree with mentally / emotionally strong.

      It’s not surprising a lot of our military personnel are Norse pagan, I believe it’s one of the first pagan beliefs to be recognised by the military to be an actual religion I can see why.

    Addendum to the workout as offering part: everything that requires effort seems to be well received by Thor. If all one can manage on a given day is to get out of bed and take a shower, doing that with intent and offering the effort one puts into it, then that is enough in my experience.
    Thor got me through a few very dark chapters in my life, and there were more than a few of those days. Now that I can do more, my threshold for effort has risen and so my offerings changed to new things that require effort. Either way, doing one's best, no matter how insignificant it may feel, seems to be greatly appreciated.

    So I decided to work out today for the first time in ages. I saw this video in my subscriptions and decided to play it while I exercised. I don’t worship Thor and didn’t know working out was connected to him but it makes sense and I felt this little coincidence was him making himself known to me and he’s supporting my fitness journey.

    Thor is one of my main deities.
    A few years ago a red oak got struck by lightening in my yard during a pretty strong storm. It didn't completely go down and was stuck on my fence (which was basically somewhat flattened and bent due to the extra weight). My family tried several times to take it fully down but the chainsaw kept breaking. I've always kind of known since I have quite a few witches and pagans in my family, that certain trees like oak trees shouldn't be cut down or bad luck would happen.
    So one day, I brought my ritual stuff out side, prayed and asked for permission to take down the oak. Even left out an offering of goat cheese and leftover lamb from dinner and a cup of rose wine (as that all the only type of alcohol available). The next day the food I left out was completely gone even the wine and the chainsaw started working again.
    I've been very close to Thor ever since, mainly ask him for protection and strength. I've also used a branch from that oak tree and fashioned it as my very first wand. I dedicated it to him and placed a storm agate on the tip. So it was kind of funny that you mentioned agates because I've always associated them with Thor. I also have an Iceland spar on his altar as well.

    I was 14 when Thor showed himself to me and indicated to me that I was being called to the Norse Pagan path.
    It was during the summer. I was outside when a sudden thunderstorm came up. I tried to make my way into the house but the wind knocked me down. As i looked up into the sky, I saw the silhouette of Thor in the clouds, wielding his hammer and flashing lightning.

    I'm new to Norse paganism and I will be honest with you. There's a few reasons I was drawn to this. First off my name. My name is Arthur. Arthur is defined as strong like Stone and a follower of Thor. Second, my wife and I were infertile for five almost 6 years. Had two miscarriages and I'll be completely honest. The only time I ever asked for something I asked Thor to bless me with a child and 2 years ago we had my daughter. So as far as I am concerned, if there's any God on any plane to worship, he'd be the one for me I must add that the day I asked for my daughter to be born or to be conceived. It happened to be an exceptionally beautiful thunderstorm. I didn't think he was listening after all the Norse gods don't really give a s*** if we pray to them. They don't really want our prayers or our praise but it was awfully nice to feel as though somebody was listening

  • @IATBOID
    @IATBOID Před rokem +4

    Hi, I'm very close with Thor. I resonate with everything that was said from you and others.
    He gave me some armor which I can summon when needed for spiritual/ psychic protection. It just appears over my energy body when I summon it. He also gave me a hammer which I've only ever used to either summon or honor him.
    I call on him for different things involving strength and power.
    Once at the end of the day I had been exhausted by interactions with spirits all day when a demon appeared. I knew I just didn't have the energy for the encounter so I called Thor for help.
    Lightning shot into me and filled me with power and I was able to effectively handle my uninvited guest. But I couldn't sleep for 2 days afterwards because of all the energy he pumped into me!
    Not all of my experiences with Thor have been as fantastic as this one, but this was my best example to explain why I embrace him with my life.
    So he can motivate and empower you for the various challenges in life, but with a very strong bond this could be a literal empowerment too. Maybe similar to how the stories go with the berserkers, who could summon the strength of great beasts to empower them in battle.
    You could use Thor in a similar fashion to empower you in battle. So if you get attacked by muggers one night while walking to your car and you decide it's necessary to fight, call Thor who would love nothing more than to help you out with that :)
    He's also there for times when strength of the heart and spirit are needed, and motivation for the mind.
    He's also good for matters concerning energy related work, including grounding. So if I have too much energy and for whatever reason it's not working to try to ground myself through conventional ways, then that's when I'll pray to Thor for help to discharge it.
    Lastly, I'l say he's good to invoke for things like bravery and courage. He resonates positively to anyone with a well developed sense of honor too~

      This is one of the most incredible testimonies I've ever heard (I am new to the pagan community and am in awe that some people have the same deep and interactive relationships with deities as Christians claim to have with Jesus).
      I like the idea of working with Thor, but honestly, I don't think any of the deities want to work with me.

    • @IATBOID
      @IATBOID Před 4 měsíci +1

      Yeah Jesus is just another deity when you get down to it. I dont have anything against him either, its just his teachings (or human kind's interpretation of them) which I dont resonate with personally. There are 11 different deities I commune with daily and including myself we form a "tribe" of 12. They are from the Norse, Greek and Celtic pantheons and form an odd bunch of sorts whom you dont usually hear of working all together... but we do so wonderfully! Thor is one of the ones who is right there whenever I need his help and I can always count on a meaningful response in my life within a day if not immediately. Its all about the connection you facilitate with your offerings and attention, and the same is true with any deity, I think. You dont need to know their lore or have a fancy altar to them unless that helps you to connect to them. Really though, just talk to them as you find deities who interest you and if sincere you will eventually connect with one or more. I have a friend who died briefly in a tragic accident and before they revived her she described an encounter with Thor who opened her eyes to the world of spirits, and then told her it wasn't her time to die yet. So yeah, the pagan deities are out there supporting humankind just like their Christian counterparts :) @@zen-sufi

    Hi, I am a beginner witch and trying to get comfortable with Thor. Just know, I felt his or someone's presence over my shoulder it felt like Thor. I am finding my intuition and choosing to trust my gut that it is him. Thor is very kind and friendly, sometimes funny. I am pretty sure he is reading this now, but you know, he's great. I usually hear them ask me question like "are you learning about me?" for example, Loki jumped in at a random time when I was learning about him and he asked me that. Makes me laugh sometimes that they just know and I love it.

My girlfriend and I have felt the need to protect one another as the campus we live on gets less and less safe for trans girls, and I’ve generally felt lots of sorrow for how unsafe I feel in daily life; Thor, I think, embodies what trans people need right now, and wearing the Mjollnir makes me feel that he will protect me and my love.

    (Actually if I have a relationship with any deity it would be Thor because ever since I was a kid, I have spoken to him during thunderstorms. But even so I'm not sure if it would be rude to a deity to dedicate something to them if you aren't going to do more or build a relationship with them further than that, at least for now.)

    Hi Bente.I have many vision's in my sleep. Some people call them dream's. A couple of weeks ago I was in a room & some people in the vision said they were coming down. Then all of a sudden the vision went black & I could not see. I knew a creature was upon me. I did not know what it was but it was bigger than I. I could feel it's head against mine but it's mouth was down towards my chest like it bent it's head down kinda thing. In the vision I was thinking should I fight this creature. So in the vision I closed my eyes as it was over my eyes anyway. Then I concentrated & formed like a aura around the creature & got a picture of it in my mind. I could only describe it as a very large wolf that had its legs either side of my shoulders with its forehead next to my forehead & nozzle resting on my chest. I was not afraid during the vision as I have had thousands of vision's about everything that is possible & I am undefeated in all my vision's of battles. I don't know why I did not feel the need to fight the creature. It's like he was trying to tell me something. Do you think this is a sign or an acknowledgement of some kind.

      @@TheNorseWitch I will have to read up on him. The creature did not bite me though. But I did get bit in a vision why I was sleeping the other night. There was a woman in a car next to water & the water was rising, I'm not sure if she was trapped & she was speaking a foreign language. Then I was in a very old mansion. I was talking to a man. Over the other side of the room I could see 5 or 6 maybe more people playing with what looked like a shadow & I think a skeleton. They all came over to me & the man I was talking to . Said something like I will show you.
      Then he leaned around & bit the side of my neck , not for long,about 30 maybe 40 seconds. As he was doing it I thought this does not hurt at all & that I was much more powerful than he was . Then he pulled away & his mouth was very wide & looked grotesque to be honest. Then he said to me. You have now got what the Americans call infamous drift. Then he looked at the others that were there & said he looks very menacing. Referring to me. Then I left with a woman . But I'm very sure if the bite had hurt I would of probably destroyed him very easily because he seemed very weak in some ways that I can not explain. Because I have had visions when I'm sleeping that I have fought all kinds . Most of my visions are about women though . Even family & friends. I have had them all my life since I was child. Every night without fail.hundreds of them. They have become much clearer since I became a pagan & stop eating meat & I have been over 7 years sober now & not even tasted alcohol. I have had visions of every country , every nationality, religion & even things you would not believe or maybe you would.

      Unverified personal gnosis I think is the acronym. It’s basically the code name for “here is an experience I have had that doesn’t directly come from something in the myths, or that others have had to my knowledge.” It can become verified if more than one person says “I’ve had that same experience!”
      A good example in the context of Thor, is that multiple people in this comment section say that he likes jerky, like slim Jim, or other meat products
