    Did the ref really have a go at McNamara for saying "for Gods sake" even though the ref also said "honest to God" himself looool, blasphemy. Never known anything like it, let the adults play pool

      @@J5X7 I think to be fair, if you say it under your breath, for gods sake can sound very similar to "ffs". Just a misunderstanding, i shouldn't blame the ref for sticking to the rules

    Can someone explain, why he had the cueball anywhere on the table when there was a foul? Are those exceptional rules for the tournament?

      @pOmS Are you referring to the cue ball not being behind the head string after a foul? That only applies to old school pool rules. In the old 8 ball rules (certainly here in England), after a foul the cue ball has to go behind the line and you get 2 shots.
      In the new 8 ball rules and in 9/10 ball, it is only 1 shot but from ANYWHERE on the table.
      In a game of 9 or 10 ball, it could defeat the purpose of having a free ball in hand if you have to put it behind the headstring and have no shot "on".
      Players could deliberately pocket the cue ball in an attempt to force their opponent behind the head string knowing that they have no shot "on". The rule of anywhere on the table makes potting the cue ball a much bigger mistake and players try harder to avoid it

      @@WhatsInAName718 Thanks for the explanation, It was pretty new to me since we still use the old rules, and they're still much better in my opinion but for a tournament it works well.

      @TheJohnCooperShow You're not telling me, that a man that doesn't play snooker, the hardest cue sport in the world, is a better "cueist" than O'sullivan, he can play equally as well with both hands, has made maximums and has shown he can be as pro efficient at pool as most top players. It's a no contest. As good as Melling is, there are levels to cue sports

      I think you are mistaking "not playing" with "not getting a touch". I don't know much about tennis as it's not my kind of sport but to get Aced you certainly have to play, you just don't get a touch of the ball. There are plenty of football games where players don't get a touch of the ball but certainly still played. It still goes down as an "appearance", not sure what it classes as in pool/billiards but they certainly played

    • @MCFoultier
      @MCFoultier Před rokem

      You can get aced and lose, but only one game. Not a tiebreak, Set, and never a Match
      Ping Pong is the same, and you get never aced in that sport.
      Maybe motorsports. If your car breaks down before start. But I dont like that either. Someone is guilty for that, even if it isnt you.
      You can get aced in several card games I could think of, in the way that the rules dictate how you have to play every Single card in order and have no way of altering your fate, no matter what you do.
      Thats the closest I could think of.
