My dogshit take of the week: I got like 10 of these on my mig29/gripen vid for italy "Ofc the gripen gets nerfed the second italy gets a good plane, gaijin hates italy" or something similar Mig29 which is top 3 at 12.0 F16A which is arguably best 12.0 Gripen which is best 12.7 Shitload of busted stuff in the past
Italy suffers or something idk (They do probably need some better mid tier stuff for tech tree grinders though, f104s for eternity aint exactly fun for 90% of people)

Mig-29 is a boat with 2 good missiles and 4 dogshit R60M, with a garbage radar, and a garbage RWR. F-16 has inferior radar missiles, true. That's the only thing it does worse than the 29.
As a prop player I missed all the "busted stuff". Now we have Re.2005 at 6.0 (whaaat), G.56 at 6.3 (whaaaaat) routinely facing BI and jets, while barely being "competitive" with Yak-3U (most likely loses to it in a dogfight) and 5.7 Spitfires (it loses a dogfight vs each and everyone one of these). The thing is a bit better than Bf 109 K4, which is nowadays not even "the best" 5.7. Then we have G.55 S0 at 4.3 (same BR as Yak-3, while being generally worse in every metric but rip speed), C.205 Serie 3 at what, 4.7 - a plane that is inferior to 4.3 fighers and absolutely clowned on by Bf 109 G6. I enjoy playing italy, but all of Italian props are mediocre at best. I jump into G.55 S0 from time to time, but it's a struggle.
Shitposting aside, I'm still very bad, but in the most gratifying sim dogfight I ever had, the enemy F-5E bitched after I killed him "bullshit, there's no way a MiG-21 can keep its energy like that, the F-5E has better sustained turn rate!". He knew enough BFM vocabulary to say things like that, but apparently not enough actual BFM knowhow to realize that your enemy can just choose to use lag pursuit and not just pull my stick back until it rips out of its socket
To be honest, he's right by most accords. Though I know the whole talk was the focus, but I cant help but relate to the gameplay. I cant physically express my confusion to some of the players I've met in Sim Battles.
Man the XP-50 at 3.7 was just such a monumentally inspired decision. I’ve hung with Yak-3s and 109G-14s in that thing from bad merges, I mean shit it’d be decent at 4.3-4.7 even with a ground spawn. Everyone who thinks the game’s worse than it’s ever been really hasn’t been around long enough to see the absolute coal this game would shovel onto you back then. The supersonic update adding the T-2 for some ungodly reason, REDFOR getting R-60s like half a year before they added flares, god there was just so much peak in the updates back then
In a lot of ways...the game used to be far worse. If you are willing to search back far enough...you can find videos of Me-163 facing off against P-51Ds...and the flight model was even more broken back then. It's also amazing what used to pass as good and intelligent gameplay. Go look at the whole entire Green Fury CZcams channel for what was considered extremely wise wisdom.

Su’s radar shows friendly as enemy in like 30% cases but if you don’t lock it immediately then the second line will appear after 1-2 radar search cycles so it can be the reason why “new” sim players make a lot of tk in Su. Tbh any other radar has this issue too and also req double check but Su’s one does it much more frequently
I've had sarh missiles decide that my teammate in a different postal code, 80 degrees into a different direction from the target I'm locking is a better choice because sometimes these missiles do that. Probably a teammate painting a radar target at the teammate or something.

Literally last week I had four consecutive games in which: 1. An A-10 killed three friendlies in the space of 5 minutes. 2. The A-10 then said "but I gave you tone for a few seconds before I fired so you would know." To his credit, he apologized later and seemed to learn from his mistake, but it's still a bit silly to think planes can detect when an IR missile is locked onto them (not launched, I'm not talking about MAW). 3. While playing the A-4E, I got TK'd by a Phantom with an Aim-9B. I still don't know how he misidentified me, since I had taken off from a friendly carrier 30 seconds earlier, and there were no enemies in the area. 4. A J-35 killed an A-10 with guns. I'm curious as to how you get within gun range of an A-10 and not realize that it's an A-10. 5. An F8 killed 3 friendlies with Aim-9Cs before somebody yelled at him in chat, "STOP FIGHTING BVR IF YOUR PLANE CAN'T READ IFF" (I believe the F8 was using its IRST). I'm not saying I've never teamkilled anyone - but I don't do it on this regular of a basis. If more people learned how to properly ID targets, both with and without IFF, and to only fire missiles if they're sure its an enemy, sim battles would be much better for everyone.
@@unfazedmc5734 You can radar lock friendlies, but only under certain conditions. If you try to lock an enemy player with a friendly player in close proximity while not in ACM mode (i.e. you tell your radar to lock a contact you have selected), there is a chance for the radar to lock the friendly aircraft instead. I'm pretty sure that you can lock friendlies in ACM mode, but I haven't tried it and don't have the means to right this second. Maybe you can, maybe you can't. I don't know. If you have a lock on an enemy and a friendly aircraft flies in close proximity to the enemy, the radar might switch lock to the friendly. I've seen it happen in ARB. Bear in mind that the most advanced plane I have is the British Phantom FGR.2, so it's possible that this all applies more so to earlier radar models - including those in the F-8s. Also, the guy in my comment was using the IRST. IRST looks for heat signatures and so has no way of checking IFF. I've never actually used an IRST before, but I'm assuming that the lack of an IFF means you can lock friendlies with the IRST no problem. After all, if it refused to lock friendlies, you could deduce which contacts were friendly and hence have a sort of IFF. That was a much longer reply than I was thinking it would be lol.
My weekly Gripen spamming has more often than not been interrupted by incredibly incompetent players on my team shooting their missiles at me. Granted...I am in a Gripen...and I have ace crew...so I deserve it.

Besides the braindead base bombers, there are a lot of ppl who got to top tier in realistic and want to try sim, since you dont have to aim guns, just shoot a missile. I'm sure you know that it is a bit hard to be competitive with mouse joystick and the messsed up settings the game gives you at first. If you want good dogfights play tournaments. Sim matches for most players are a learning experience, and should not be taken as actual player knowledge.
I have had this conversation with so many players it is honestly both tiring and infuriating at the same time. They tell me they're "good enough at the game" and then make a million mistakes, but not two million mistakes like the rest of the lobby, so they do enough to confirm their own thoughts. I said the line "the average war thunder player is below average" on a different account over a year ago and I still get comments to this day trying to argue with me over it. I get that people want to be able to play how they want, but if you told me you wanted to learn to play guitar I'm not gonna tell you to just strum the strings how you want. Maybe I wouldn't mind so much if the players who only seem to be capable of making terrible choices didn't actively affect my experience in game.
Damn, he is actually extremely bad in top tier planes, I have played with and against him pretty much every day last week and he literally had 0.2-0.3 KD in M2K everytime, everyone in those lobbies was like “huh? Wtf is wrong with you”. He didn’t try to evade a single radar missile
Considering more than half of my wt acc stats were from when i was in elementary/high-school and i was playing on a ps4 with a broken controller up until 2020, I'd say im decent lmao
Sim is more difficult to play. For example, if you played air RB(and are reasonably good at it) sim battles feel like another game: simple actions become more tedious with more room to err, people become much more difficult to keep track of, Some people may play more casually, etc. (Yes I am coping)
