  • Hi Everyone. This is my Hornby Live Steam Mallard loco being run for the first time in 8 years.
If you’re not familiar with Hornby Live Steam it’s definitely worth looking this up. Essentially, Hornby produced several Live Steam 00 scale locos between about 2003 and 2008. The first to be released, as part of the R1041 set, was the Mallard. This included the loco, track, transformer and controller.
I bought this set about 10 years ago from the original owner who had never used it.
Thanks to everyone who has viewed my videos and a special thanks to my subscribers. I’ll post a followup video soon, of the loco on track.

Thanks David. I’ve found these locos to be pretty well constructed and I still give this a run on my rolling road from time to time. Cheers Deepa

Thanks Mark. Yes I was fortunate enough to be the only bidder on that auction and was therefore able to buy it. I'll definitely have to give it some more runs from now on. Cheers, Deepa

Thanks Jim. Yes I love the idea of 00 Live Steam and it’s a shame it didn’t take off as well as hoped. It’s good to hear that people are displaying them at shows. Cheers, Deepa
