  • A video explaining CS Lewis's argument that the miracles of Jesus weren't arbitrary and theatrical, but had theological meaning. Based on an essay published in: Lewis, C. (2002). Miracles. In L. Walmsley (Ed.), C. S. Lewis Essay collection: Faith, Christianity and the Church. New York: HarperCollins.

Great Video! I also love how Lewis mentioned within his essay that Miracles can’t be explained by science since they are not natural events which repeat themselves. He therefore compares it to a historical events which happen only once and cannot be reacted.

I can't speak for that person but I'll give my two cents. I don't believe this is completely ridiculous but some of it is questionable.
For example the point about materialism. There is this idea that theists believe that the super natural exists while atheists don't believe it exists. I think it's the other way around, as in that I believe that what exists is the natural. I don't think anything *can* contradict the "laws of nature". Whether miracles exist or not what we can perceive and measure is in the natural world, and any interaction from god must be possible to perceive naturally.
For example, if god really does exist then he is by my definition natural. We can not believe things we can not perceive, and we can only perceive the natural, the real.
