  • It’s the end of April so it is time to open our Kayak Pool. The whole family get together for this video.
We reinstall the pump, filter, frog cycler, and wire into the breaker box switch. Then the real fun starts, cleaning!
We clean the metal deck, skim and vacuum the pool floor, then installed both set of steps.

Nice video, Kayak pools are quick and easy. I like the "L" Shape Decking you have from Kayak and was wondering how they do the supports underneath. I have purchased a used pool off craigslist and would like to add the additional decking to our current Kayak Pool. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Under the extra deck they did dig out all the dirt and placed small patio squares to give some stability to the long legs holding it up.
They ended up adding an extra row of legs at the same spacing under the extra wide parts.
Then I used some small equipment to push the dirt close but, I did have to shoveled it back underneath so rain water would not gather.

I wish you would’ve shown how you got your steps out in your video. This is our first season with the pool and we are ready to close it and had much difficulty removing the railings for the steps and had quite a mess getting the sandbags out before getting the steps on the deck. Is there an easy way to get the steps out?

I hate to say it but not really. I got in the pool and took the sand bag out then my wife and I both lifted it out. She was on top pulling and I lifted from the bottom. With all the water and suction the stairs create we haven’t found a easy way. Just brute strength.

Great video that I was looking for👍we are new pool owners and have a kayak pool as well.Im amazed how clear your water is after you took the cover off.Can you please tell me what kind of chemicals did you use for closing the pool?😊we had a company that closed our pool and we just opened it after the winter and water is completely green😬

All we used was the shock pack that came in the starter pack. We diluted it in a 5 gallon bucket and poured it around the pool. I literally did nothing to it all winter.

I believe after everything was said and done we had close to 35 - 40k (but we upgraded some things and had a lot of land and hillside to develop).
