Very beautiful danse by maestros , but unfortunately not a good video mixing, so many camera changes and parallel pictures. Changing camera in almost every musical phrase is more confusing than beautiful

If I understand you question, in this event it is the DJ who chooses the music.
Also, the dancers are not with their usual partners, the partners are mixed and picked randomly.

Watchin them without music, I see their connection not such a good one. It would ve been better if they opened the holding or the woman hold the guy tighter as far as the guy interfered in the woman's space. The man doesn seem to know where the center of woman's spin is. This can happen anywhere anytime but hopefully not to the maestro level.
I had to turn off the sound to try understand your point of view . In tango , connection is internal not always observable from external viewer. Dancers some how write down what the music dictate. So danse without music has no meaning . Another point is that the “GUY” is chicho , on of greatest tango danser of modern history of tango ( you could check his name and review some documentaries) another point , the style of these two dansera are completely different . Chicho is a more modern danser with open embrasse system and Virginia is a more classic danser into closed embrasses , of cours both of them are the maestros and could easily danse in different systems . I watched few time the video and I don’t see there is any miss understanding of spin , there some out of spin mouvements but they are not accidentally , they do it by purpose regarding their very advanced musicality in fact these mouvements are very difficult for even an advanced danser because it needs some level of out of axe mouvements ( not like volcada ou colgada where there is a commun axe) here the axes move parallel to each other but not perpendicular to earth so very very very difficult... and the last thing even if all I said is amateur and non logic, these two are as great dansera that it is so unlikely to do some mistakes at this level ( = losing spin )

He is argentine, not everything is like in the movies and shit, he knows how to dance tango, so shut up..
