That was in Ireland. Specifically it was in the phoenix park in Dublin.
The event is still run but it's of a very small significance now. That was such a great run and the course itself is not straightforward. I've ran those roads so many times over the years, it's a really lovely place to run.
crazy to think now its around 31 minutes usually for best time while it used to be 27-28 mins ( I run nowhere close to either times but just saying :)

My favorite race with the great Kenenisa Bekele is world championships in Berlin in 2009, 10000 m. It was something!

I met the Guy once, kennenisa bekele, I went to half way build stadium once to just jog I am not an athlete and there he was training , I had no camera at the time for a selfie but I run about 10 k with him he must have run abour 15 k because he was lapping me multiple times and I shook his hand and left, a story I will tell for

Good video and commentary - I would mention, however, that this race took place in the Phoenix Park in Dublin which, I can say from experience, is not a flat course at all and you can actually see that in the faces of the other elite athletes💚🇮🇪😉

10k in irelands pheonix park is great race ,lumpy course. He looked like hes running 4 30a kmin, the good ones make it look easy

I’m a great fan of Bekele in cross-country and 5K/10K road and track.
Not a fan of him in halves and marathons.
The reason he had a different form in this race was probably it was the right distance for him.
Marathons are a thorough waste of time for him and probably a great killer of his middle-distance speed.

Du schreibst das ueber den besten cross country und Langdistanz Läufer aller Zeiten. Wäre er frueher zum Marathon hätte er auch hier die top zeit. Absurd so jemand mangelndes Training vorzuwerfen. Er hat ohne eine Arnee von Hasen eine 2.03.03 als pb. Sowas packst du nur mit enormer traningsdisziplin

Bekele ist bekannt dafür sein Training manchmal schleifen zu lassen. Das weiß nun wirklich jeder der Ahnung hat!
@@obalaaa oh je gegen den Schmarrn ist ja Sport Bild das Ebenbild von Qualitätsjournalismus😂 Bekele hat zu Stadion und CC Zeiten brutal hart trainiert und daher seine Endgeschwindigkeit. Wechsel zu Marathon hat er es relaxter angehen lassen nach 15 Jahre. Training auf höchstem Niveau bis er dann auf Berlin wieder einen guten Trainingsplan durchgezogen hat. Bekele ist im Crosslauf der Goat und auf 5 und 10 000 ebenfalls in der Verlosung.

So if u put a drag racing car next to a Lamborghini and the drag race car smokes the Lamborghini by a few 100m if doesn’t make the Lamborghini look slow

- and won - more races than anyone else). His career has evolved in a total logical way, with ups and downs. He's not stupid enough to destroy his career today.by doping, and he's also not the only elite runner over 40 to still run strong (Tadesse Abraham - soon retiring - runs similar 40+ marathon times, and he's tested constantly by Swiss anti-doping authorities - it's doable without doping.

Which is the Irish national police, short for Garda Síochána.
Not only is Ireland not in the UK, it's insulting and offensive to suggest it is.
Also, the finish line says "Great Ireland Run".
