He mentions female bass players, and I’m surprised Carol Kaye didn’t come up. She might be one of the most prolific bass players of all time regardless of gender. A true legend.
Seeing clips like this always puts me in mind of what George Sluizer said when asked to comment on River Phoenix‘s death, he simply responded with: “there are a lot of jealous people in Hollywood right now”………
@@SirChristus16 he was likely referring to john fruciante. william reichert strongly believes JF gave river the drink that killed him. river's father said if he ever saw JF he would kill him.
I’m glad to see this because I always thought that the time river spent with the rhcp guys and my own private Idaho crew was the beginning of the end for him. I’m not sure exactly when this was filmed but he is obviously using while flea looks clean
I don't know if Flea is clean, but River is definitely high as hell...you can tel jyst by his voice. Honestly it's really sad he just kind of slowly slipped away. Whats sadder is he helped and encouraged people fight their own addictions while falling into his own. It may come off as hypocritical, but i think he was just overly empathetic. He felt too much.
@@Babywolfchick1142 I don't agree with you at all. River is in character here as James Right the character in The Thing Called Love. It's a character. Watch the movie and you will see it's a character. He is even wearing the shirt that James Right wears in the movie here.
definitely he was high as shit during this and that country music movie he was in. he looked horrible and it is in my opinion his ONLY bad movie. Dark Blood is better unfinished than that shit was. if he had lived he was gonna be struggling with this addiction for years and it might've fucked his whole career up for him. heroin's not something you start and finish in a couple months. it takes years and years to get a healthy hatred up enough to quit. fucking tragedy. He was awesome
I remember the first time I saw this back in 93. I cried. How could Flea sit across from River and be okay with how he was acting? How he looked? I was devastated. He was so sick. Something was very very wrong.
Flea is trying to explain something that's as natural to him as breathing, but it can't be taught. I admire River's dedication to learning and music, but he was no Flea.
6:03 when river said "or she" my heart filled with warmth
I miss him so fucking much
me too :(
me too...

Yea, I agree
Flea: All the female bass players are named Kim. It must be some weird cosmic thing....
River: Who is the bass player from Talking Heads?
Flea: Tina
🪦
river high as a kite
Flea : River , how high are you?
River : yes

@@Babywolfchick1142 I totally agree, with people like that sometimes their own head is the hardest place to be. Such a beautiful soul

Where did you find this gem?
sad to think about but perhaps if river had never met any of the RHCP he may be alive today RIP
River don't talked the other men talked jajaja
Not just these fingers 😂😂😂

Ikr, I think the way flea was with music was the way River was with acting. Just naturally talent!
