JESUS SENDS OUT THE TWELVE DISCIPLES
REFER: Am 7: 12-15/ Eph 1: 3-14/ Mk 6: 7-13(14th July 2024)
Jesus called together his twelve disciples and gave them power and authority to cast out all demons and to heal all diseases. Then he sent them out to tell everyone about the Kingdom of God and to heal the sick. According to the Gospel of Luke, the only gospel in which they appear, Jesus appointed them and sent them out in pairs on a specific mission which is detailed in the text. The number of those disciples varies between either 70 or 72 depending on the account. And he called the twelve and began to send them out two by two, and gave them authority over the unclean spirits. 8 He charged them to take nothing for their journey except a staff-no bread, no bag, no money in their belts- but to wear sandals and not put on two tunics.
