Packing each day's outfit in a separate bag is a great tip, especially for the kids! This is something the Girl Scouts use for kids going to camp. It makes it so much easier for the kids. All they have to do is grab the bag for the day. No searching, no confusion, etc. My daughter loved it!

Great show guys! My tip is try and plan a couple resort only days in your trip! Only thing to make the show better is to extend episodes to a full 1hr weekly show😊

I’ve been a member since 2003, 20 years of magic! I would love to see more guests on the show who have been around DVC for a while! The thoughts and opinions on how DVC has changed over the years, what we miss from the early days, what we wish would come back, what made us join when DVC wasn’t the beast it is now, etc.

Thanks Amy, my wife has taken your quote “it’s not over packing, it’s being prepared!” and is now using that excuse when we discuss packing 🤦🏻🤣

Im with Ryan the only thing I want to add, is that before putting aways your “go bag” after your vacation, refill any item that you are low of.

Amy under estimates the value of Owners Locker for studio people. We stay studios 2/3rds of the time and highly recommend using a locker. We keep a couple real coffee mugs and a real knife in ours (definitely a Studio need), a couple light jackets/sweatshirts, rain pancho/umbrella, sunscreen, hats, are just a few things that are nice to have there instead of packing each trip.

Enjoyed the show and your home studio seems fine to me! Nice to see Ryan and Lauren on the show. I had to make a spare bedroom my “Disney room” because of my merch spending 😢. All Loungefly, popcorn buckets, mugs, plush, tinkets etc are displayed. My fav thing is I have a huge chest cabinet that I keep our Disney clothes, hats, pins, decorative lights, ears, water bottles, bubble wands, neck fans and towels etc all in one place. (Most shirts and spirit jerseys are hung in closet. )It fills up all the space! I used to have it all over in different places and when I would pack I was running around everywhere for items. Now I just open a drawer and all things are easily accessible and displayed. Grab some shirts, ears, cooling items, hats etc and I’m ready the go. We also do the daily bagged outfits for the kiddos and it’s so easy. I also keep a backpack mostly packed for quick weekend trips where we just stay 3 nights -2 day trips.

I'm with you Amy! There is no such thing as over packing! The one or two times I only brought a few extra outfits I was so sorry. And you know I didn't have enough choices! lol.

Thank you for taking our feedback to heart! Imagine - the DVC Show hasn’t talked about Owners Lockers until now!! The out-of-town perspective is essential.
I know the downside to having people on who aren’t used to being on camera is they don’t have “TV speak” or the same emphasis on their voice and fluidity in speaking. Hopefully that gets better over time.

I am a big 'by the day packer,' especially when coordinating for 4 people. I also love doing it for split stays because I can just keep one or more suitcases completely untouched until I get to the next resort. And anything I use in more than one resort I also try to put in its own suitcase. We managed 3 resorts for our first DVC points trip, and packing that way made it not seem so hard.

I have two toiletry bags always packed and ready to go. One for a one-two night trip and one for longer trips. I also have a special dresser drawer for trip clothes. So if I have a trip coming up - as I wash clothes that will be going, they go in that drawer so are ready to pack when it’s time.

I have been an owner at DVC since that was the only resort --- the resort now known as Old Key West. Like Jeff, I am a huge fan of OKW. Both contracts that I have are there. One is from 1994 the other I recently acquired with Amy's help in 2023.

Great tips! I definitely do most of these. Husband and I are considering getting an Owner’s Locker. To open up the possibility of quick weekenders down flying in on budget airlines.
I do love Lauren’s idea of the spreadsheet keeping track of points usage. We currently have 3, but I never mix the points from them, just use each separately to book trips as we need them. I’m trying really hard not to borrow any from 2024 this year, so we’ll see how it goes. I do have all of our 2024 trips already planned out and calendar reminders in my phone for the 11 & 7 month booking windows 😅

I loved this episode! New guests who were remote as they live away, was awesome. I like the idea someone else mentioned of including overseas people as guests, too. As for ideas, not mentioned wrt disney gift cards is that you can get discounts on the cards all the time if you buy at sams/BJs/Costco. It's not a lot, but it is something lower than the face value if you have no other options.

Packing cubes are the greatest invention. I used them for the first time in July, it compressed things allowing for more room for souvenirs! It also allowed me to keep items together and the larger ones I could use to out my dirty clothes in. Shout out to Dani Metzger at DVC Resale Market; she's the best!

Feeling compelled to make a points spreadsheet for sure! We have 3 contracts now, and I was recently juggling some things and now I have some extra points I need to use. A good problem to have, but should have been tracking better.

GIFT CARD TIP: Frequently, B.J.'s Wholesale Club will have 5% off, or more, on Disney Gift Cards (usually around Black Friday). Instead of using my Target Debit Card, I use my Southwest Chase Card (or any airline card, really) to buy them at B.J.'s. I wind up with the airline miles PLUS the discounted cards.

I love thinking how much I save on each purchase or meal 🙂 Every time I earn a reward with my BJ's account, I use it to buy more gift cards so sometimes I can save 15 to 20%😁 Thanks so much for such an awesome show, Amy, Paul, Ryan, Lauren and Jeff 🤩

This past year I hit on a good idea: get a Disney gift card for each day of vacation and load each with $250-$500 (I was building a lightsaber at Batuu East). And that’s my daily food/schwag budget. It worked great and I took home $500 because my traveling companion surprised me and sprang for the lightsaber 💚💚💚 I like to get the 1 bedroom villa because of the laundry, and pack lighter. Four regular sets of clothes plus my Disney-bounding outfit, and wash every other day.
