I didn't even catch that reference. I personally didn't care much for Taz as a wrestler, but he was fairly decent in ring, but he was pretty good on the mic. I personally thought Taz doing commentary was the best move he made in his career. He wasn't much of a wrestler, definitely more of a brawler. He was much better suited for ECW than anything else.
I can only imagine that it made Tazz hotter than a lit match, though. Oh well...it is what it is!

Once Punk gets more into shape, he might run through the younger guys, but as we saw with Darby Allen, Punk is not nearly as dominant as he was nearly a decade ago. Honestly if Punk faces a wrestler his size or bigger, he will probably get squashed, unless he's booked to look strong. He got pummeled by guys his size in the UFC, and I think he even got his ass handed to him by a fighter who was slightly smaller than he was in his short and laughable MMA career.

Everything after the Rock went Hollywood, and Stone Cold ended, had been trash imo. I know many people liked it, I tried. It just wasn't for me. AEW, got me interested again when they launched. Even though I'm not a huge fan of Punk or Brian Danielson, the energy they have brought (by joining AEW), is legit. It reminds me of the start of the NWO, and the glory days of WCW. Good stuff
@@MikeyJProductions totally agree. I fell off very quickly around the time you mentioned and haven't been excited for anything until these past two weeks. I'm the same way with Punk....I'm not even a huge fan but the energy is what matters to me. People can say what they want about how the nWo ended but when it started, it had an air of unpredictability and energy we hadn't seen in a long time. The moves AEW are making feel the same way to me.

Its a blind spot for a lot of folks today, but if you can watch it, youll see where today's wrestlers got their influence. Youll also get to see Mick Foley's best heel work in his career, Terry Funk being Terry Funk, Sabu, why people love RVD, Sandman getting pops out of 3,000 louder than some pops out of 15,000, the Raven vs Tommy Dreamer feud, and a lot more. Consider yourself lucky. A lot of us wish we could watch ECW again for the first time.
