I love this video. What a treat to see a stunning Jaguar XJ Vanden Plas. Such high class, look at that quality and charming olde world style. That beautiful interior is like wafting around in a mobile palace! Even today there is no car like a Jaguar.
TheTotalRecalls Thanks, I just cranked it up yesterday after parked through-out the season. Only one attempted, cranked up beautifully without hesitation.
Very elegant and easy car to drive for its size. My first car was a 97VandenPlas I inherited from my grandmom after she passed away. Sadly I don't have the car no more. But I am looking forward to buying another one
I don't know about the other but I owned this Jag since 1995 and now the mileage reads 43,500. The problems that occurred since then were the battery drained out in three to four days if parked so I disconnected it with a "quickdisconnect" ($3.50 from Walmart) and the memory seat function does not operate properly. No any other problem beside these two issues.
I remember watching it in 1995. Sorry I don't have any clips but I just watched a CZcams video of older TV ads from around that time 95-97 most likely.
yeah i know what you mean, i had a jaguar tuneup alone costs a lot, if you keep regular on your maintenance, they are very reliable cars, at least the one i had, never gave me any problems
Mint condition - beautiful! We have the same model with 180,000 miles on it that needs work that we cannot afford to maintain. Your video really captured the beauty of this great car. I have loved owning it but it is time to sell to a collector who can keep it in the condition you have. Thanks for sharing.
+David Slater I happened to know a master jag mechanic at the near by city and he's been maintain it for me for a fraction of dealer cost. thanks for ur commented.
I absolutely love the X300’s. My opinion, there the best ones to have. I am now on my second one. First was a 1995, and now I have a 96. Unfortunately my 2 are not as in excellent shape as yours, due to neglect from previous owners. But, still a gorgeous automobile. Great video.
Hello nice car. A tip, when you're stopped with the car as a state at the exit of its urbanization or crossing the road, put the shifter in the letter N, because if you leave it in D gearbox makes resistance though depress the brake and may break the gearbox and is a very expensive breakdown. a greeting
@Jaguarcarslmt7 did consult with jag mechanic and had the oil pressure test while idle. said, cause by defected sensor, the pressure was normal and not necessary to replace the sensor. thanks for comment.
dukeboy09 ...hello I'm looking at a 99 vanden plas myself with 92000 miles on it..test drove it today. .super quite. .hopefully this car with be a peach..
These are some of the most beautiful cars I have ever seen. However you need to own a Jaguar Dealership or be a mechanic to do 24 hour service they are a mechanical nightmare
How can this look brand new? Ya'll have really maintained it well! My dad bought one of these at an estate sale for $500 and he has recieved many compliments. The paint is still in great condition, but it just has some problems with the transmission.
@darrenbeckley don't think so. much effort taking care of this old cat even check weather before take her out so never in snow and very very seldom in rain. thanks for asked though.
Tony V, do you still own the 1995 XJ6 Vanden Plas today? I am considering purchasing a 1996 XJ6 Vanden Plas with 59k miles. It is a one-owner car with all service history. Cardinal Red in color. Would love to chat with you about your ownership experience with the car, and hear any advice that you would have for someone looking to purchase one. Please feel free to message me here. Thank you in advance! Best, Jared
czcams.com/video/mj3JxD9isgs/video.html Hi, The Jag still with me, pls ck out the link above to see it after five yrs. I only take it out in the summer time and parked during the yr. Will get to chat with you soon when I have chance. Good luck with your purchase and enjoy the beautiful ride and drive.
I bought this way back after two yrs off lease and kept it in the garage in the winter and at all time. Very seldom in rain and never in snow. Kept it wax and dust free inside out. Replace all the fluid every year to maintain in solid condition, even the single windshield wiper is still an original one. The only thing that needed attention now is the rear head liner starts to sagging down and memory seat is not properly function. Other thing else is "drive like a dream" And that's it, thanks for asking!.
what I do not understand with these cars is why they are using the Daimler fluted front grill and boot trim. this was never used on past Jaguar VDP only on Daimler VDP. when ford took Jaguar they did not understand the various brands and they mixed them up typical of American interference in our history
+ozmaniac49 I could understand it being a Daimler VDP but VDP was only ever a rimming company never a car maker you just would not get away with it in Britain
the most beautiful Jaguar ever made
The most beautiful and most reliable jag ever! I pick up my second 95 Vanden Plas next week!!!
Good luck and enjoy driving it.
What a beautiful car! I own a Merc CL 500 but I absolutely LOVE Jags. Such elegance, such class.
Mercedes is somewhat stronger, tougher but the designed of Jag is more classier and also needs more attention to keep it running well.

a thing of beauty. i have a very soft spot for Jaguar, saw one of the last XJR's today. i did drool a little
that is one of the cleanest engine bays I have ever seen in my life
Joseph Draper
Thanks!
All of my cars are that way.
When i wash a car, i also clean the engine and interior inside out.

My 04 xj VDP isn't even this clean. Got to love the VDP ! Great video!
I love my jaguar vanden plas
That is mint-condition! The dirtiest part of the car was the spare wheel, nice car man ;) Keep it that way
Just noticed this was a 95. It was a commercial advertising the new jag body back in 1995 that got me into jaguar and liked them ever since.
+Athenastarbrite THANKS FOR LIKING, WOULD U HAPPEN TO HAVE THE 1995 COMMERCIAL CLIP?
I remember watching it in 1995. Sorry I don't have any clips but I just watched a CZcams video of older TV ads from around that time 95-97 most likely.
CZcams video - " 1995 Jaguar XJ ( x300 ) promotional video " by " kilikcalibur ". I'm sure it's the same clip I watched in 1995.
yeah i know what you mean, i had a jaguar tuneup alone costs a lot, if you keep regular on your maintenance, they are very reliable cars, at least the one i had, never gave me any problems
Lovely to see one kept in this condition. Sadly they all to easily become neglected here in the UK.
fredintheshed1 so sad!
I got a 99 xj8 but honestly this is even nicer str8 classic
Mint condition - beautiful!

Amazing condition. Hope you still have it.
95-97 xj jags are probably top 3 most reliable full sized sedans ever created.
I absolutely love the X300’s. My opinion, there the best ones to have. I am now on my second one. First was a 1995, and now I have a 96. Unfortunately my 2 are not as in excellent shape as yours, due to neglect from previous owners. But, still a gorgeous automobile. Great video.
Good luck, hope you find a nice and trouble free one.
Proper music for a jag by the way. Enya. Very nice
The loud noise you hear is the twin electric fan. It is normal in this model Jaguar, X300.
google may help you find one. Have fun and good luck with your brown cat.

My wife was driving. If I was, I would do as your recommenced.
Thanks for the useful info!
Only Time by Enya! :) Often related to the 9/11 attacks these days, however.
Classy music to go with this nice classy car !
Wow. Seems to be in good nick. In a rare white colour too. I'm surprised they decided to not install chrome bits on the top of the engine...
JimTeh1988 white was a popular color for these Jaguar's in the United States. Not sure where u live?
ugh... I think my heart just melted
@Jaguarcarslmt7 did consult with jag mechanic and had the oil pressure test while idle.

Nice Jaguar looks like new
Beautiful car !. I live in NC aswell haha
But I would love to own a jaguar as nice as that one
dukeboy09 ...hello I'm looking at a 99 vanden plas myself with 92000 miles on it..test drove it today. .super quite. .hopefully this car with be a peach..
WOW! That's clean!
the song is by enya- wild child. one of my favs too
AJ16 engine is bulletproof. Change the oil frequently and do a top-end job every 300,000 mi and the car will outlive you.
love the straight six
These are some of the most beautiful cars I have ever seen. However you need to own a Jaguar Dealership or be a mechanic to do 24 hour service they are a mechanical nightmare
mine has 167000. the previous owner changed the oil "once a year or so". and the engine runs like a top!!! these are bullet proof machines.
Mine only has 45,000 miles on it. Just replaced a/c compressor. It dead because didn't drive it much! 😊
@@tonyvacharee4631 holy smokes! that straight six is just breaking in. you need to drive that more! LOL
@@floopymcfloopy-pants4205
Oop! Sorry man, it is 45,000 miles instead.
I did edit my replied above.
@@tonyvacharee4631 thats still a rare low milage these days. yeehaw!
Yes sir, still have it.
Is that box of tissues used for wiping up the drool everytime you clap eyes on this utterly gorgeous Jag?
This one is immaculate.
Lorenzo Moore thx!
My opinion....the engine is too noisy....i belive there is a valve or cam shaft issue....Jaguar XJ6 are not that loud normally...
i am saving up to buy one only 3k to go,
hopefully still on the market when i come up with the rest of the cash

I think the Chain Tensioner needs to be replaced
WateenKutzooiisdit I know you commented 5 years ago but I was thinking the exact same thing after watching this. 😂
love the song 5:00
Good luck! and hope you find a descent mechanic to save your money on maintenance and repair..
@darrenbeckley don't think so. much effort taking care of this old cat even check weather before take her out so never in snow and very very seldom in rain.
thanks for asked though.
no, "Wild Child" came out in December 2001 :-)
hello I just brought a 1995 jaguar it's chocolate brown, do you know where I can find a car manual. Your car is nice
EBay has official service manuals for these cars.
The car manual should be placed in the console of the backseat.
X-300
Blows head gaskets.
Exhaust manifolds crack.
name please of the song and nice car
the second song is enya-only time
😍
Video must have been made during bike week!

SOA Redwood
Yep..

It's fine
How did you find this mint example with only 42,000 miles? Also buy some rubber mats to protect your carpeting!

Something wrong with the engine....too loud for a sraight six Jaguar
LPG?
whats that song called?
Where is the air apartment air filter
Diesel?
Do you know how to maintain it?
No, sure don’t but friend work as a mechanic foreman at the dealership is the one that taking care of it.
What’s the song name?
"wild child" by enya.
Can anyone tell me if these xj6 jags built in similar time frame to this, are reliable??
95-97 were build under a particularly high standard in prepairation to sell (which ford did buy in 1999) so it was no coincidence
Enya LOL
Turn down the crappy stereo....trying to hide the engine noises much...
What in the hell do you expected? The car is over two decades old without any major work on!
enya :)
For Sale??
Jaguar is British or German?
british, owned by indian "tata motors"
the first song i mean
please take the mud flaps off that classic please I'm begging
Why? They are factory option
lmao!:')

Keith Newton, it's a vanden plas, top the range like a daimler sovereign.
BMW motor можно поставить аналог есть на неё вообще
Diesel?
Yep, quattro turbo diesel!
You got one?
