There's been talk about Slafkovsky's season being saved by being put on the first line ― let's be honest as well, the habs only have 1 functioning line ― but I truly believe that a big part of Suzuki's ability to reach another level this year comes down to Slafkovsky's play. He's been creating so much room for his linemates by being a dominating force on the boards. Caufield has a decent season, but his size is really starting to show as he's been really struggling with puck possession at 5v5 IMO. Slaf is just a menace on the boards and makes the opposing team's life so difficult, freeing a lot of room for his line. That's not something you will see on HockeyDB; you have to watch the games. Suzuki wouldn't have 74pts in 77 right now without Slaf, and that is no slight to Suzuki; the man cannot do everything all by himself even though sometimes it feels like it.

He's a liability to his line mates.
If anything He's a 3rd line defensive player.
As long as they feed him top minutes and every PP unit the Habs will never compete.
Suzuki started ignoring him on the ice after the All star break and started producing since..
Caulfields lack of production is a direct cause of Slavkosky coughing it up all the time.
Matheson should be on the first line with Armia and Suzuki at center.
    Caulfield Dach Gingac
    Pearson Newhook Slavkosky
    Anderson Evans new tough guy
    Go Habs.
