I had to study this for one of my previous classes. I had fun learning about music from centuries ago, and still enjoy listening to it.

It makes me sad that most of these comments aren’t even focusing on the song. All they care about is how they have to listen to this for a music assignment or are focusing on his makeup or his facial expressions. This is opera, of course he isn’t gonna look or act like fucking Ariana Grande. Stop complaining about your music assignments and just do it and get it over with.

Yea I'm pretty sure I have to write a discussion post about this song. It sounds like opera. The genre of the opera is opera. I can hear the opera at 0:18 and especially at 1:20. The musical texture is opera and it makes me feel opera.

Wonderful! I think I'll have a go at it. I found the dubious comparative literature claim between James Joyce and Marianne Loir on the protrait. I wanted to have a go at 'Addio una Terra, Addio un Cielo' but I can't find much reference to it except in 'Aida'. I actually wanted the folk tune sung at Mr Joyce's funeral just out of interest.
