He was conferred an Honorary Doctor of Letters by the University of the West Indies on October 30, 2021.

We have become people, 5:57 who no longer appreciate good melodies. So many songs have chorus lines with one note. I was 13 years old at the time this piece came out and I still whistle it. Lovely work by Dr Holman.
