I did the same thing years ago! I doesn't works! You need the packs for it. One cool thing about it is, when you have one of these pack and can't collect all collectabels (because you can't become 4 player collectables), you can become the things there.

Get the monster pack. Its worth it. Its just one level. But a lot of stuff to play with
