I'd love to ask you something: What happen if a non-exclusive model got a job, which one of her agencies make the cut? Also, is it possible to open a talent agency without any knowledge in the business (just knowing it from models, photographers, etc, friends)?
Matyas Mon That’s a good idea! If I can find time, I may look into that. So, whichever agency reaches out to the model first is who they put is representing them if they go to an audition. Or, whatever agency a client uses is who gets paid for a model who is placed. Hope that makes sense. I’m sure a person could start one but it may be a lot tougher not really knowing how it all works and knowing how to reach clients.

As a talent manager, I've kept my client list small but the reason I'm considering an agency is that I know the market whether you have tattoos or not, whether you're tall or short, young or old, whether you're petite or plus size. I know there is a market out there for all ages style, people. My question is do you think in today's current market is it wise to open a new agency for the national or international market?
Well, what do you think? I think you should ask yourself that question and decide for yourself. I think there is beauty all around the world that needs to be showcased. That’s just my thoughts tho ❤️

So I modeled for 30 years, and want to start an agency, but I worked with many casting agents and production studios, but usually always different for each shoot, so having the connection for me wouldn't be familiar perse. So would I google production agencies, producers, casting agents, online castings that are posted on legit sites? I don't want to ask my former agencies, because I don't want to seem like I'm stepping on their territory, after all they've done for me.

You're welcome! Schoolwise, you don't really need any except for knowing how to run an agency and how it works. You won't be doing the photography and you won't learn the modeling business with a business degree (not saying you shouldn't go to school, but it won't particularly help you in the modeling industry having an agency). As far as websites go, I hired a web designer who made my website for me because each model has to have a portfolio on the website with their information and multiple pictures for clients to see. Hope that helps!

Hi Tracy, I own a small market talent agency in Iowa. It is legit, clean and wholesome...but struggling. How taboo is getting into exotic type of talent? I imagine it is a whole different deal, but I am tired of struggling and worrying about staying afloat. I don't want trouble but there is a market. Have you ever represented such talent?
Hi, Ian. That's why I had to close my agency full time and now I just work with close clients and do other things. I, personally, wouldn't get into the exotic part. that is a whole other type of business. Yes, with COVID and just the market the way it is and now people using people who just want to be in front of a camera for little to no money, it's a tough business to be in!
I believe I have a video on that. To start, you find agencies you want to become a part of and submit yourself. That's the only thing you can do really and then they decide if they want to represent you. Good luck!
