16:51 yes, definitely. my ayah angkat is a keris collector. he probably has like 50 keris. some are family heirloom and has been passed from generations. my mother kept one from my grandmother too, but I believe it was just the type of keris (with a proper sharp blade) that were used in weddings back then.
actually the reason why people in the old days "perasap" their keris is because they can't clean the keris with water and let it air dry because the blade will rust. they can't wipe it with cloth as well because it will ruin the blade. the material used to make the blade was a mix of different things, so they have to be delicate with it. so they would use lime to get rid of any dirt or impurities (or blood lol) then dry it with smoke from kemenyan. it's nothing mystical, but people who uses black magic does use kemenyan and smoke on the keris for black magic purposes.

I find that the Malay stories that deal with black magic in "incredible tales" are the scariest and the ones which I would remember.
I think the toyol one S3 ep 1 ("finders keepers") and the one about the penanggal S3 ep 3 ("devil's apprentice") stuck with me the most. I even slept with my blanket tucked underneath my feet cos I remembered the toyol would suck blood from someone's toes. 😂
Not sure why these episodes are my favs but, probably because of the style it was shot? Or the story? (Kudos to Kabir Bhatia and the team!!)
