As a man, I don't know much about it myself but I do encourage all girls out there to visit their gynecologists (if you have one you normally go to, try going to another one once). I considered myself one of those lucky ones too. I didn't have pains before but ever since I gave birth, I always have severe cramps while my sister who had severe cramps when we were younger, after she became a mom, her cramps had become less painful.
i used to have no pains too. but around 18 y/o when i got into colleges, maybe it's because i lack of sleeps and worked too hard so i started getting period pains. and yeah... i kinda relate to yumi by needing a lot of painkillers to stop the pains, but sometimes painkillers doesn't help me at all.. idk what to do so i just end up sleeping all day lol

Periods change in a lifetime. I know mines weren't hurtful before I was 17 or 18 (got them at 11 years old), but the blood flow was huge and long (full 7 days, sometime 8 or 9 days)... I almost needed a baby's pamper the night; once I soaked my bed with blood in the middle of the night (same year I got my periods), my mother had to help me out.
They're still huge nowadays, but they never last more than a week and are even weakening during the week. Still at 21, I always sleep with a tower under my butt during my periods, in case of an incident... and I always cross my legs and sleep on my back (very uncomfortable) to prevent any bloody cascada... But I have to run quickly to the toilets in the morning before it starts leaking.
Luckily now, they don't hurt that much, when it does it's just the first or second day and only a 500mg painkiller does the job. When it hurted for the first time, I couldn't do anything else but to lay on my bed like an embryo and try to sleep, crying because the 500mg painkillers didn't help. It was like someone was punching right in my stomach. Very violent experience... After that, it hurted like hell every 2 months before it cooled down itself. Had to take 1000mg painkillers, back then.
I'd say the most annoying thing to me with periods is that I feel them leaking. It's freaking uncomfortable, disgusting sensation and tirring. When I had to go the university while having them, I was veeeery upset when there was no sit place in the bus because I had to feel them going down during almost 1 hour... when arriving there I had to change my napkin because it was already soaked in my blood... Or whenever I had to stand up or I sneezed/coughed, BAM ! Blood cascada returns.
I envy of men that they don't have to deal with periods.
So... that's it. It was long and all, and I hope this comment will be forgotten soon so I can forgot I once talked about my periods. Cheers to all girls having troublesome periods !

Honestly Idk there was that belief going, the only thing I can say is that me and my sister didn't have painful periods at the beginning, my sis finally did when she was already 26 BUT the pain weakened like it did with me (it's really rare now for me and her to have painful periods, they are just a bit uncomfortable 1 or 2 days but they won't hurt in most cases, and if it hurts, only a 500mg painkiller does the job).
Anyways, if you do start to have painful periods one day, don't worry: it might be temporary. Enjoy your discret periods :-D

She's a real one, the way she said sex education is important, because yeah it is important and just because it is named sex education means you're just gonna talk about sex, it also means knowing the responsibilities and what you have to do before and after doing it. Might teach minors how to handle a relationship maturely. Now the word sex doesn't really mean making love, we all know it also means gender. I think it is also good to know what triggers our hormones to prevent it happening and educate both the genders.
Back when i was younger, my period really hurt on the first day and i took the max dose of full strength tylenol when it came around. In high school as an experiment i cut out food coloring and artificial sweetener and haven’t had a cramp that was more than a tingle. Don’t need pain killers anymore. Its been almost 10 years since then
Did Tylenol actually help? Why not something a bit stronger like Advil?
PongoXBongo it was either aleve or advil that didn’t work for me so I didn’t bother with either since I couldn’t remember. Tylenol just once at the beginning did me good for the rest of my cycle
