Terrific song. Used to sing it all the time after seeing Back to School in '86 with my dad and brother. One of my favorite memories with my dad seeing this classic. Underrated theme song :)

Dangerfield's best film performance. Seems like it's on IFC (unedited) regularly over the last 18 months or so. Makes life more tolerable when a comedy like this or Fast Times at Ridgemont High comes on the tube.

for me, I bought a copy of back to school on DVD and when I heard this song in the movie I thought I would check it out...... great 1980s tune! one thing I liked about much 1980s stuff was it's music and that decade did have great music! another 1980s flick with great music is disorderlies!

I noticed that too. recently I saw a movie I think called ping pong summer. I know it had Lea Thompson in it. at first I thought it was made in the 1980s but when I found it was made 2014 or so I was surprised listening to the music in it and the overall atmosphere of the movie it felt like a 1980s flick.
Watched this opening weekend June 1986. Thanks.
