For these engine games, it'd be nice to know when the opening book stops and the engines are allowed to choose their own moves.
It will quickly devolve into a draw, that's why they program openings into them to introduce some imbalance.
@@ak_nora OP is saying they'd like to know at what point in the game the bots stop being forced to play a specific opening, and are free to play whatever moves they want.

Strongest engine or not, theres no doubt that watching Torch play is a thing of beauty. Hell, engine chess in general is absolutely gorgeous to behold. There is something uniue about every top engine's method of play - Alphazero's aggressive striving for victory, Stockfish's depth and insight in the calm of the storm, Leela's endurance to survive and now Torch's creative and unorthodox play.

My takeaway is that sacking a rook to open a diagonal for both of your bishops is a good move, and there is absolutely no need to fear undeveloping a knight so you can move a pawn to that square. As long as you can calculate 20+ moves accurately

It's amazing how he manage to make chess so enjoyable to watch and listen, almost like big sports events, not only in this particular video but in all long and short format videos.
