    The Westminster government has for long long centuries been very good at infiltrating and defeating some of the men and women who resisted their colonial terrorism but they never ever have defeated the spirit of freedom that lies within all men and women .
    So , despite all that Westminster has thrown at Ireland , they have regained full freedom for most of the country and very very soon all of Ireland will be reunited and will be a nation once again.

      @BemusedBarfly Ill be honest here and say i miss read the article, and it's 186 children in all the troubles.
      But it states that 26% of children were killed by British army and RUC, 27% by loyalists and 42.5% from the IRA.
      Let's also not forget that the IRA enlisted children, which is a war crime, and it doesnt take a lot of looking to find children who sadly died at 14 from accidental discharges of firearms in training. So you claim the British have a complete disregard for children but the IRA were using children as soldiers.
      (www.google.com/amp/s/www.irishtimes.com/news/ireland/irish-news/more-children-killed-in-troubles-than-first-thought-says-new-book-1.4045475%3fmode=amp)

    Many people say on social media that the European Union had nothing to do with the Good Friday Agreement. Nothing could be more wrong. Only the European Union, and its vast and free internal market, makes it possible for there to be no border between Ireland and Northern Ireland, an essential condition for peace. To avoid a border between Ireland and Northern Ireland, guaranteeing peace, Brexit necessarily has to place a border between Northern Ireland and Great Britain. And that border is inevitably a strong incentive for Ireland's unification. The choice of the United Kingdom is tragic, as it will not be able to achieve peace and maintain the integrity of the United Kingdom at the same time. If you want to keep the peace, you will lose Northern Ireland. If you want to keep Northern Ireland, you will lose peace.

    • @TheIlluminatiDetect
      @TheIlluminatiDetect Před 3 lety +8

      What a delusional take. Republicans want an end to partition and the establishment of a proper Irish Republic. Over two decades of war didnt end partition. 20+ years of politics hasn't ended partition and the only thing keeping it up on the Republican side is people insisting that a 32 county Republic is just around the corner when it clearly isn't. It leaves the whole movement subjugated. Brexit is the latest one. I'm sorry, I wish it was happening, but it isn't. At the start Gerry Adams denied Sinn Féin were upholding British rule, it was a temporary measure on the path to a united Ireland. The Republicans have won everything but their single goal. Mi5 and the police services of "Northern Ireland" are putting militant republicans in prison, as they always have. Only this time SF, who have the majority of Republicans on side, are in Stormont and support the police services of the 6-county state.
