- New project car? New daily driver? Another salt covered car in Canada? All of the above my guy! In todays video we take care of the first wash on our new BMW E46 325i Wagon. The goal was to remove all of the road salt and grime from the vehicle in order to pinpoint all of the areas the body shop will need to address. The wheels and arches will be taken care of in a later video. I hope you guys enjoy this introduction to the new car on the channel. Who loves Tourings?!

This week I’m going to remove my current paint protection on my Ford. Apply two new layers of Jescar Powerlock, two layers of Collonite 845. Then two coats of RainX, topped off with bead maker. Bought a electric leaf blower to go with it. The wash and dry process is going to be so much easier!
Heck yeah man! The super combo, leaf blower definitely makes drying a lot easier on protected cars
2 layers each of PL & 845? Damn gonna spend a lot of time waiting for those to cure before adding more layers. Your paint will survive a nuclear war my friend.

Forsure man! Lower half’s get thrashed with debris. I use optimum no rinse with my claying 😊

does the paint need to be buffed/polished since you used clay bar on it? Just curious since sometimes the bars cause marring. thanks!
I mean it will be at some point but that’s not always necessary. A car with less contamination will often look better despite minor marring

Does anyone know why he fires the pressure washer gun at the floor first? It's an important but often overlooked detail.
Absolutely - to ensure the spray tip doesnt fly off and hit the paint! I had a foam cannon come loose and luckily it hit the tire and not the rim or paint, i have since adopted this procedure to aim at ground first:
It only takes one tip to crack a windshield before you never aim it at the car first again

With salt covered car, you don't treat the underside of the car? Especially on a bmw which tends to rust easily in certain spots.

@@ChromaticGarage I don't live in a climate with salt on the road, but is it not something really important considering how fast salt attacks metal and chassis parts? If it was the case in my area, i would use the floor attachment to rinse at least the underside, maybe try to put degreaser in the tank or some other way of doing it.
