Caitlin Clark FAILED Because of Some of her Indiana Fever Teammates

  • When Caitlin Clark and Indiana Fever played her first Professional Women Basketball game against Connecticut Sun, the WNBA fans did not get what they expected as far as Caitlin Clark's performance was concerned. Indiana Fever lost. Could it be because the Sun players were so good at defending and the Indiana Fever were slow?

Caitlyn didn't play her best, but was decent for her 1st pro game experience. She had 10 turnovers, many were passes that her teammates dropped. She still scored 20pts of their 71, although she could be more efficient and will get better. Then the Fever coach, has no strategy or game IQ. They all need to improve for gm.2 !🏀🤔

The superstar takes the credit for the wins and the losses that's why they get paid the big bucks. Clark's former team also had several players who played several years together, with similar results. There are other teams in the W that also have veteran teams, ie the Aces, and these teams click. Clark cannot do this alone, and it's going to take some time to jell into a cohesive team. I agree, Boston could have played better, as well as others including CC herself. I'd say give them a dozen or so games, and they will be better. If not, I dunno, let Clark coach the team? Or maybe get Kate Martin to come over?

I watched the game and have a few pointers for their coach. # 1 : A couple of the players were guarding their players and when their player shot the ball they didn't even turn around to see if it was a basket and when it was a miss the player that they were guarding ran past them and got their own rebound and put it in the basket all because the fever player didn't pay attention. # 2 : 80 % of the time there were 3 or even four players from the other team under the basket looking for the rebound but only one Fever player was trying to stop them rebound so, where were the other back court players and why weren't they trying to get the rebound ? Also Boston and Katie Lou combined for 55.47 minutes and scored a combined 9 points. How the hell do they except the team to win a game with that type of shooting and yes each one of them contributed in other ways BUT points are the determining factor in every game.

With the debut being against the number one defense in the league, the turnovers weren't all that surprising. Looking forward to watching how this team gels over the season. I do believe the predictions were that the Fever would win about 13 games this year. If they win one of the first four, considering the competition, that would be an unpredicted success.

They never had the pressure that they gave to caitlin as soon as she got the inbound ball from the backcourt. They had a gameplan to stop Caitlin while her team did not have a play to help her out, they just let her be to fend for herself, that is why she had many turnovers.
The Suns put her on a full court defense, tag teamed her, doubled her, they were determined to destroy her and put her in place for daring to be more popular than all of them put together without even playing a single wnba game. Connecticut's mission for the night was to destroy her specifically, not necessarily the Fever. All the other rookies werent subjected to that pressure.

Magic went to the strongest team and was subordinate to jabbar. Lebron didn't do anything for his team's benefit and just accumulated stats.
Larry went to the cellar dwelling team (29 wins) and with just him added to the team, turned it around to become the league winningest team (61 wins). He also established his leadership of the team in their first game. Boston went to the playoffs all the way to the easter conference finals and lost in 6 against the much talented sixers led by Dr. J. The next season, the celtics became the NBA champion.
Only Bird did that. All the rest of the superstars may be spectacular in their rookie year but they never advanced their team except adding a few more wins from the previou season. Not jordan, not lebron, not wemby, not anybody else.

Caitlin's team is too slow'. The coach needs to do speed training. The reason there were so many turnovers is that the Fever are not keeping up with Caitlin's speed. The point is not to slow Caitlin but to speed the others up, and study more tapes of Iowa. Iowa did not have a mid-field game because they were always at the net getting those great Caitlin passes which they were always ready for, getting the passes at full speed and not needing to dribble the ball much. Dribbling the ball works for slower teams but doesn't if the players are faster and trust Caitlin, who always passed to where the players were going to be, not where they already were. Which is to say that the coach needs to rethink how she coaches, because her approach is too behind Caitlin.

Do you defend any other WNBA player like this or is it just Caitlin?

That team is headed for disaster. The coach is always going to be under fire, because of coaching a player that is considered “perfect.” Let me let you in on reality, Caitlin is not “perfect.” She was shut down in the fourth of the NCAA Championship game. Swoopes and other WNBA veterans tried to share their experience and opinion on what Caitlin should expect in the WNBA and they all had rocks thrown at them. Why? Because they cannot give their opinion on a “perfect” player. Now Boston, the rookie of the year, and other players on the team careers are now in jeopardy. Why? Because they are playing with the “perfect” player and teammate; thus, they will never be able to measure up to perfection. The team is Caitlin and what is best for Caitlin is best for the team. If they win, it was Caitlin. If they lose, it is the team. Boston tried to share some of experience with Caitlin at the half and after the half Caitlin played better; however, it was due to the opposing starting guard being injured. Boston should just focus on her game because her, the coach, and many other players on the team careers are in jeopardy. Again, because they are playing with the “perfect” player and teammate and their tenure on the team means absolutely nothing. I have empathy for Boston, the coach, and the others. The team will have five loses in the future (Liberty, Liberty, Sun, and Storm). Afterwards, the team will be searching for the right coach and players to pair with the "perfect" player.

Watching that game just showed me how lazy and slow these women are. They won't push it up The Court And this coach apparently has no Idea What talent she has on that team.
