I think that was beautiful how it all in a way comes full circle. One way or another, ANTM had a part in who Jenah Doucette is, but she is gonna make that into something wonderful. I think she is going to be a great counselor from what I saw in this interview.

Can we take a moment to acknowledge the psychological damage some of these contestants have suffered? Even this many years later she's still having a fear reaction when asked to share information about the show. That's the result of intimidation and veiled (or actual) threats of legal action and career destruction leveled against these ladies and gentlemen.
It makes you wonder what kind of crazy stuff they said that she is a boss chick who speaks her mind but it’s got her so scared because of that conditioning & years after the NDAs have expired. Not to mention, she isn’t really doing fashion work right now. Her having these trauma responses made me sad to see... like I hope she is getting some help too if she still needs it. Oliver handled it so well with her.
Oh I love the Victoria stories She was more complex than being the girl from Yale (that yo, was surprisingly good for a novice) and so I wish she had gone further just because she was such an interesting person on the show. Very well spoken
I remember being devastated when she was eliminated. I loved her so much, still do actually. She was/is amazing!! Her portfolio was BOMB. I loved her personality and her look (I'm happy to see she's still a blonde because I love the color on her)
Jenah was so misjudged because she made a good point about personality traits that she doesn't need to bubbly cus her personality was the opposite of that. There is a pattern in the show they highlighted bubbly personalities but I reletated to her more than other girls. Every one has their unique personality and show was so unfair to a lot girls who were shy, queit, realistic.
Watching this was like therapy: seeing how you guided Jenah through talking about her-not-100%-traumatic-but-still-classifies-as traumatic ANTM experience was so lovely... you offered timely, thoughtful affirmations to her after her confessions. You handled this with great sensitivity Oliver and you really impressed me!
But it is not only a competition. It is also reality tv. The producers make huge money from them. With a beauty pagantt competition there is no reality show mostlh
Heather had a great model exotic look and took stronger photos than most of the girls. Only Jenah was able to compete with Heather in terms of photo quality and model looks.
Oliver:"I'm no professional interviewer" He might be chaotic but he really knows how to lead an interview. He cajoles people into revealing more than they want but he never pushes and knows instinctively when to back down.
Exactly: just because he doesn’t do that thing networks want where you tone down some of your flavor to be “corporate” does not mean he is a bad interviewer. Yes he knows his timing, he knows when to help a girl through a question by guiding her or affirming those difficult answers. He calls himself “nosy” but he doesn’t pressure girls to give up on their hard limits, so to me he is not nosy. His chaos is good and he is a creative individual. Also he is not loud and crazy all the time, so I like what Oliver is throwing. I think he just earned a new subscriber come to think of it :)
I just rewatched the final episode and Nigel actually mentioned Jenah's apology during deliberation. He said, "She did a 180 and said I'm sorry and she really meant it." But because Jenah's forced apology was cut out, Nigel's words were taken out of context.
I still love Jenah to this day. She was underrated and not given enough cloud on the show. I was still living for her Moss photoshoot and the fierce carton box editorial.
Jenah and Lisa should've been Top 2 with EITHER of them winning. I was so mad when they sent Lisa home bc of some bs reason about how she wouldn't be able to handle the fashion industry/business. And when they sent Jenah home over Scandaleisha (no shade, but it is what it is and I said what I said) I was livid. Jenah did SO well and had the strongest portfolio

I’m glad that Jenah also confirmed what Bianca and Heather have been saying for years: They were close and Bianca was not bullying her. Jenah has wisdom in her young years. I loved that she would not "speak" for what other people might have been thinking or feeling. she is honest, kind, compassionate, and very mature about her shared experience on ANTM. Loved her so much then, and even more so now!
I find so ironic how the show did her so dirty and portraied her as this "awful, cynical, sarcastic girl". I always thought she was the most relatable contestant and was perfect for CoverGirl, because out of everybody (except maybe Heather who was just as relatable as her), she was the most real and genuine girl. I mean, I was rooting for Chantal, but I honestly think is so nasty how they broke her down to the point she was just losing herself. Cycle 9 was such a mess, smh
Yeah this season i think is where people really started to check out from watching ANTM... because people believe Saleisha was rigged with all the other talent in the cast. Saleisha was a good model (I believe she’s acting now) but I personally believe several other girls out-performed her that season. And I think people jumped ship on top model after this season because people really started to see how they are trying to make a show more than they want all these girls to succeed. If they wanted all these girls to succeed in the industry, they would have given instruction on how to maintain a weave or how to take it out. Because who knows maybe their agent (if they got one) would want the tracks out or something or their agent likes the look so they need to keep up with it. Also they wouldn’t like bash these girls on national television because after seeing Shandi with Cycle 2, there are people in fashion that are at least aware of the show or they might even watch it. Let the client decide for themselves. Oh and yes I adore Heather 😍
I’m glad the cycle 9 girls are very supportive of Victoria. I remember being so excited when Twiggy was announced as becoming a part of the show, and then the weird smirk she got when she felt cute saying Victoria was “appropriate for the cactus.” I felt so bummed and deflated on my hype for her as a judge.
Jenah is so authentic and amazing. She really cares about her fans, I can attest to that. Still my favorite model from all of ANTM after all these years.

Can we take a moment to acknowledge the psychological damage some of these contestants have suffered? Even this many years later she's still having a fear reaction when asked to share information about the show. That's the result of intimidation and veiled (or actual) threats of legal action and career destruction leveled against these ladies and gentlemen.

It makes you wonder what kind of crazy stuff they said that she is a boss chick who speaks her mind but it’s got her so scared because of that conditioning & years after the NDAs have expired. Not to mention, she isn’t really doing fashion work right now. Her having these trauma responses made me sad to see... like I hope she is getting some help too if she still needs it.

She was more complex than being the girl from Yale (that yo, was surprisingly good for a novice) and so I wish she had gone further just because she was such an interesting person on the show. Very well spoken
I remember being devastated when she was eliminated. I loved her so much, still do actually. She was/is amazing!! Her portfolio was BOMB. I loved her personality and her look (I'm happy to see she's still a blonde because I love the color on her)
Jenah was so misjudged because she made a good point about personality traits that she doesn't need to bubbly cus her personality was the opposite of that. There is a pattern in the show they highlighted bubbly personalities but I reletated to her more than other girls. Every one has their unique personality and show was so unfair to a lot girls who were shy, queit, realistic.
Watching this was like therapy: seeing how you guided Jenah through talking about her-not-100%-traumatic-but-still-classifies-as traumatic ANTM experience was so lovely... you offered timely, thoughtful affirmations to her after her confessions. You handled this with great sensitivity Oliver and you really impressed me!
It should be illegal not to pay reality tv contestants. They should at least get minimum wage. It’s so unethical.
You don’t get paid for participating in a competition. The only person who deserves the pay is the winner.

Why Heather? She couldn't walk and she did horribly at the go-sees. How can you can be a model if you can't walk nor get around the city?
Heather had a great model exotic look and took stronger photos than most of the girls. Only Jenah was able to compete with Heather in terms of photo quality and model looks.
Saleisha was too commercial and her being part of that Tyra camp smelled fishy in my opinion and Tyra highly showed biased favoritism towards her

He might be chaotic but he really knows how to lead an interview. He cajoles people into revealing more than they want but he never pushes and knows instinctively when to back down.

Exactly: just because he doesn’t do that thing networks want where you tone down some of your flavor to be “corporate” does not mean he is a bad interviewer. Yes he knows his timing, he knows when to help a girl through a question by guiding her or affirming those difficult answers. He calls himself “nosy” but he doesn’t pressure girls to give up on their hard limits, so to me he is not nosy.
His chaos is good and he is a creative individual. Also he is not loud and crazy all the time, so I like what Oliver is throwing. I think he just earned a new subscriber come to think of it :)
I just rewatched the final episode and Nigel actually mentioned Jenah's apology during deliberation. He said, "She did a 180 and said I'm sorry and she really meant it."
But because Jenah's forced apology was cut out, Nigel's words were taken out of context.

Jenah and Lisa should've been Top 2 with EITHER of them winning. I was so mad when they sent Lisa home bc of some bs reason about how she wouldn't be able to handle the fashion industry/business. And when they sent Jenah home over Scandaleisha (no shade, but it is what it is and I said what I said) I was livid. Jenah did SO well and had the strongest portfolio

Jenah has wisdom in her young years. I loved that she would not "speak" for what other people might have been thinking or feeling. she is honest, kind, compassionate, and very mature about her shared experience on ANTM. Loved her so much then, and even more so now!
I find so ironic how the show did her so dirty and portraied her as this "awful, cynical, sarcastic girl". I always thought she was the most relatable contestant and was perfect for CoverGirl, because out of everybody (except maybe Heather who was just as relatable as her), she was the most real and genuine girl. I mean, I was rooting for Chantal, but I honestly think is so nasty how they broke her down to the point she was just losing herself. Cycle 9 was such a mess, smh
Yeah this season i think is where people really started to check out from watching ANTM... because people believe Saleisha was rigged with all the other talent in the cast. Saleisha was a good model (I believe she’s acting now) but I personally believe several other girls out-performed her that season.
And I think people jumped ship on top model after this season because people really started to see how they are trying to make a show more than they want all these girls to succeed. If they wanted all these girls to succeed in the industry, they would have given instruction on how to maintain a weave or how to take it out. Because who knows maybe their agent (if they got one) would want the tracks out or something or their agent likes the look so they need to keep up with it. Also they wouldn’t like bash these girls on national television because after seeing Shandi with Cycle 2, there are people in fashion that are at least aware of the show or they might even watch it. Let the client decide for themselves.
